"Deuteronomy 18:15 Moses is like Jesus , a Prophet and Messiah"

This verse is incredible. Daniel 9:25-27 tells when the Messiah is coming (first coming and possibly the second as well) , exactly to the day and year. This verse, Deuteronomy 18 :15 tells us at least , by my count, 49 details describing in every way the Prophet - Messiah , clearly identifying who he is. Take a look. Moses and Jesus

Deuteronomy 18:15 " The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him shall ye hearken."

Much of the life of Moses is found in Exodus. We begin there and watch as Messiah appears , exactly described by Moses life---  1,600 years later.

The second book of scripture (Exodus) in the Hebrew Bible is titled "NAMES" , not Exodus, as that is the first word of Hebrew text .... "Now these are the names...which came into Egypt". And following are many names , all males. But in  verse 15 there appear two (2) female midwives , Shiphrah and Puah , who are called before Pharaoh for failing to kill the male Hebrew babies as Pharaoh had ordered. This is remarkable.  These women were incredibly brave to defy the Pharaoh's order. There were millions of Hebrews and thousands of births so clearly these two women were supervisors of midwives, there must have been hundreds of midwives as these two could not handle all Hebrew births. Being in the same supervisory profession they were likely friends and  had agreed together to defy  Pharaoh and also had agreed upon how they would respond to Pharaoh when required to explain why they did not follow orders.  They were not going to kill children. The lie they concocted was unbelievable , that Hebrew women were more lively in birthing and the midwives could not arrive before birthing took place. Pharaoh could easily check with the midwives to see if they were even instructing midwives to kill males at birth. No doubt there were no instructions from these women to kill children. God placed these 2 female names in a list of multiple  male names , for their bravery, and noted that the Lord gave them "homes" -- no doubt with a nice, heavenly,  view ! (verse 21). We will see these brave women alive in the Lord's kingdom. Now move  to Chapter 2

Chapter 2, v. 1 of "NAMES' begins ... "AND there was a man of the house of Levi who took to wife a daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived and bare a son... " The son (Moses) was then hidden 3 months and then placed into an ark of reeds (a floating boat-basket) and placed into the river. The daughter of Pharaoh then notices the basket and child and collects Moses from the river , adopts him ( she says he is Hebrew) into the royal family and names him Moses.. . notice all the details. Pharaoh's daughter brings home a circumcised Hebrew male that her Daddy has ordered killed - twice. How does she explain what she is doing to her.... Daddy ? He is going to be furious -  So we have 3 people who have placed their lives and future in great jeopardy . Shiphrah , Puah, and Pharaoh's daughter.

Jesus recorded life begins at (3) Wise Men who defy King Herod's order to find the child and return to Herod and report the location. And Herod was "extremely angry" that they defied him and returned home by another route. Just like  Moses ... 3 people put their life in jeopardy and protect the child . Mt. 2:11-16

Number 2.Did you also notice ? In a book titled NAMES , following multiple  names listed in chapter 1, Moses parents are NOT named ? " A  man  married a woman and she conceived" is the description Moses writes of his parents. Few people even know Moses father's name. There are 3 verses where Moses in Chapter 2 could "name" his parent but declines to do so ; verses 1, 8,9. It is not until Chapter 6 v. 20 that we hear the names of Moses parents and a rather embarrassing connection they have. Moses father is Amran , his mother Jochobed. His father married his father's sister... his Aunt. Moses father married his Aunt. It seems like Moses may have felt some shame over this background -- no doubt his mother or sister explained it to him. We all have plenty of background that needs forgetting , beginning with Adam. Also , Moses had murdered a man , no doubt he felt shame over that act. Ex 12:11-12.  So inherited shame that all mankind  carries (sin) plus actual self shame from our actions. And Jesus carried  shame onto the cross. Hebrew 12:2.

Number 3. Blood Covenants. Ex 12: 5,7,13. Moses instructed all to paint blood on the side doorposts and on the top lentil , over the door and the firstborn would not be killed - the Angel of death would Passover. Blood painted on each side and then directly above which would then drip directly down forming a cross shape ! That blood saved ! And , of course, Jesus blood was shed for our salvation Mt 26:28. Another match.
4 Moses arms were extended , held out by others for military victory as Israel fought the Amalkites.  Ex 17:12. As his weary  arms dropped downward , Israel would retreat. Arms out, they win.
5. As Moses arms were extended, he tired and a man on each side held up his arms. Like Jesus who  extended his arms on the cross for others, with a man on each side. Ex 17:12
6. Moses walked on the bottom of the sea, Jesus walked on the surface of the sea.

Questions : 1. Does it help Shiphrah that  she had Puah as a friend to steel her resolve to do the right thing ?    Hosea 6 :6
2. Does "believing" that Jesus is God mean you will go to heaven ?  How is it that the Devil believes ?  What other traits are involved ? Repentance ? The tree of knowledge of good and evil ? Who decides what is right or wrong ? James 2:19
3.  Does Moses sense of shame and humility mean he had a "contrite" heart ? Psalm 51:17
