Hello Garry B, John and
Doves,
I'll add my thought:
all the prophecies for Daniel's 70th Week will be fulfilled
by the end of the 70th Week. :) Before the 1,000 year reign
of Christ begins. IMO.
The 70 weeks are
"determined" or "decreed" for the Jewish people and
for Jerusalem. This is believed to be a
time period of 490 years. This prophecy was
given while Daniel was in Babylon and the Jews were looking
for the time when they could return to their homeland.
Many believe there is
only 1 week of the 70 weeks left. One period of 7
years. From a previous letter, I see that you and I believe
that Jesus fulfilled the first 3.5 years (exactly 1260
days) with His ministry. So there is only the 3.5
years or '1260 days/42 months/time, times and half a time'
left to fulfill as shown in The Revelation.
I see these prophecies
as requiring divine fulfillment - to stop the Jewish
peoples' rebellion, to make an end to their sin, to
reconcile them with God, to bring in everlasting
righteousness and seal up the vision/prophecy and anoint the
Most Holy place (this is the New Jerusalem - because the
prophecies are for the Jewish people and for
Jerusalem - so I'm seeing this as the New
Jerusalem) "qodes" is 'the Holy thing' or "a
sacred place" - Many translations have this as "to anoint
the Most Holy Place". These things will take an act of
God. I see this as finishing up with the Second
Coming/before the 1,000 year reign.
If He fulfilled these at the
cross, then His ministry would have been the first 3.5 weeks
of the 70th Week.... so what would be the need for the last
3.5 years of the 70th Week? (Or His death would have been
the end of the 70th Week...)
Jesus was anointed on Earth
but Jesus will be anointed as King of kings and Lord of
lords after the battle of Armageddon. And before the
1,000 year reign. "He will rule them (the nations)
with an iron scepter." Rev 19:15
But it looks like 'to anoint
the Most Holy' is for a place. In Revelation 21:2 John
wrote he saw, "the holy city, (the "great city") New (holy)
Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven, prepared as a bride
adorned for her husband." Also Rev 21:10
This is identified as the tabernacle of God where "He
will dwell among them, and they shall be His people and God
Himself will be among them." Rev 21:3 The One
seated on the throne will "make all things new." Rev. 21:5
And "He who overcometh shall
inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be my
son." Rev 21:7 I think all the Daniel's 70th
Week prophecies are fulfilled by this time. Right before the
1,000 years begin.
Thank you for your thought
provoking letter!!
Maranatha!
