1 Cor 10:31 (20 Mar 2022)
"Hey Derrick Drew!"

1 Cor 10:31

Goodness – and WHEW another week’s flown by kinda’ week!!  So I almost started to have to postpone getting back with you.  RE:  To 1 Corinthians 10:31 a “pen pal” letter to reply to a couple of yours. (fivedoves.com)

But I can find a few moments to respond.

Oh yeah, I DO remember the good ol’ pen pal days!!!  Back then the pre-computer era – and in my childhood, even before using a typewriter – those were truly snail mail letters:  handwritten!!  I had a couple good pen pals over the years.

But we “do get it” with John Tng – after all, he too has a life --  and opted some years back to go from publishing 6 days a week to only 1 day a week.  Can’t blame him.  Huge time commitment + I’m sure he feels he must take time to read every letter & weed through what he wants on his board, what he doesn’t.  Another time consuming deal.

“I Love Lucy”; “Andy Griffeth”, “Leave it to Beaver”, “Father Knows Best” + sooo many good others from the golden age of TV!!!!  I don’t watch much TV these days, but the few times  I have it on – can promise if it wasn’t for retro shows, I wouldn’t even LOOK at TV any more!!

The “saltiest” thing we watch is “M.A.S.H.” where, of course, salty language on a reg. basis – though still considered extremely MILD compared to “today”!!

Rabbit trail:  don’t know who reads here who may be a Korean “Vet”??....   (most that age = dying out….)  but I’ve spoken before of a friend, now 90, healthy & still has full mental facilities!!  And sadly, TO THIS DAY, some 70 years later – still has nightmares from his time “captured” then/there!!   I’ll be so glad for him once that is forever behind him!!   He cannot eat rice when we eat out – same reason – it was ALL he was given in prison there.      /rabbit trail off….

Poor Sydney!!  Been a long time since we’ve raised one from a pup.  Got ours – already adults, already had their personalities, already potty trained (big plus!)   But I, too, hope she will see you over time till the rapture…… better yet, that she will GO WITH US!!!!!   I keep hoping for that as well.  Regardless I am certain we will see our beloved animals again.  Thanks for taking good care of her amid her many ailments, problems & challenges!!

BLOOD:  2 things – and you’d have to sort of experiment – believe me, I’ve had to try various things!  But isn’t that all the vet’s going to do anyway?  Make an educated guess??  And who knows OUR pets better than we do??

Okay, so 2 things worked for us:  (look these up and/or order if you want to try)  First one, vet told us about & suggested…. others I tried on my own.

  1. Yunnan Baiyao Capsules – can order from www.ActiveHerb.com   there’s also a Yunnan Baiyao Jiaonang capsule – which I’m NOT SO SURE if this is different – this one came from WalMart.com (never used)  so just to be on the safe side, I’d def. go with the first one.
  2. Study about it, works for/on humans as well as animals.  I opened a capsule & put directly on our dog’s sore/blister/bleeding tumor – it STOPS the bleeding!!   Can also administer orally….. 1 vet suggested giving to him for a week – another vet said, “be careful with that” though didn’t further explain – I expect she meant can clot the blood TOO MUCH.  But hey, this stuff DID work for us!!!!  Could always tell Toby didn’t feel great after rec. it orally though (upset tummy?)   So I decided to try to not feel I had to do that again….  on the outside of body though, it clots the blood, makes bleeding stop, but causes a “blob” later – which may itch if it’s not gently pulled away.

  1. Also any of those  QUIKSTOP or ALLAQUIX (sp?) items from amazon – also STOPS BLEEDING!!!!

  1. Vitamin K….. Toby’s cyst literally ERUPTS with blood when he’s eaten even a tiny speck of BEEF!!!  Yes, highly allergic.  He gets poultry only now.  But if anything else causes that nasty thing to erupt – I’m finding ONE HALF (no more) of a Vitamin K tablet is “helping”  (gotta’ be careful, also causes blood to thicken & clot)….. I use phytonadione [type of vitamin K) 125 mcg, but no more than ½ a tablet a day – I use 365 brand (which is basically whole foods, but may possibly be able to order from amazon.)

  1. THEN….  And believe me I pray about using homeopathy first – as I realize the debate – good opinions both ways – I don’t want anything to do with the occult!!!!!   So this is something you’d have to pray on  yourself.  Then if you’re comfortable with it:  HEPAR SULPH to stop bleeding – I use the LACTOSE FREE version #1M which means I use only one of those teeny-tiny pebbles….. and just add it to his food.  He gets 1 or 2 a day.  Now & then I’ve also been using Jackson’s brand (lactose free)  Calcium Sulph – also intended for skin/wounds.  The first one I mentioned Hepar Sulph – is also used as a “natural” antibiotic.

I certainly wish you guys well as you try & try & try to bandage up Sydney….. enough to keep her going for your sakes as well as for her own.

You definitely sound like a “Jack of All Trades” to do things around the house.  What (once) lit the fire under my DH’s “backside”??  ha – kinda’ funny – we had 2 (retired) firemen come over – a friend always used them for her lawn needs, though come to find out they were “fix it up” kinda’ guys, too – after they came & toured & said they’d get back with estimates (they never did) – but I guess that made Hubby “snap to” and decide to fix things up on his own!!  Haha!!  Seriously that was not the reason I had them here though!

But I’ll be honest – no, I do not deserve any accolades AT ALL…… in fact, truth is, our faucet had been dripping for “nearly” TWO FULL YEARS – and you know how it is when one thing – all too quickly escalates to what feels like 10,000 things (falling apart) around your home???  But funny, out of all – even the BIG Things, the one that was most on my nerves was that drip-drip-drip!!!!   Sooo….. asking DH to please wait one day was purely for my sake – dishes weren’t done & I could just imagine the mess I was going to come home to.  Fortunately my nerves weren’t strangulated that day – b/c that was EXACTLY the mess I came home to!!!!  But….. he did get it fixed.

I’ll admit, I’ve often wished I had more of his personality—he can impulsively quip out something funny & bring the house down….. me, I try satire & -- what with it not being “my gift” = DEAD SILENCE & everyone stares at their toes!!!  Hahah!!    So really, that was all I was doing – was just vetting a bit of steam (believe me I’ve got many FAR WORSE problems than THAT!!!)   and trying (but failing) to make it sound comical – almost satirical.  Actually embarrassed myself was all I ended up doing.

Hey, I better end here.

Hope you & everyone in your family can enjoy a great week!!
