To take away the only sign, from those that require a sign, is a great travesty:

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

  40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

I Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

When the "kingdom" of churches, headed up in Rome, by the pope, began to promote replacement theology, they also, then, took away the sign of Jonah, by promoting their "Good Friday" doctrine. With Rome's "partial day fulfills a day" nonsense, they eliminated the requirement of the "three nights", and thus, for centuries, robbed Jews of the sign of Jonah, regarding the resurrection of Jesus.
