"The Widow's Offering. Inspiring!"

Luke 21 has been playing on my mind a lot recently. It begins with the widow's offering, which actually wasn't my focus when reading this chapter. My focus was the rest of the chapter. However, the widow's offering swerved into focus when I read the story in the 1st link below.

Mozambique and Zimbabwe recently suffered tragic losses after the cyclone Idao hit. Both countries are populated with majority poor people, VERY poor people. Because of corruption and political violence, they have little chance of emerging from the poverty quagmire. Cyclone Idao just added to the misery. I read this story quite soon after the cyclone hit, albeit from another news source. What this article neglects to mention is that this woman is a devout Christian. She did what she did because "Jesus told me to". And that is a direct quote. How telling that the Daily Mail deliberately left this important information out of the article. The reason I am posting the Daily Mail article is because of what happened to this wonderful woman as a consequence of her actions. Amazing. It brought our LORD's promises and actions to life - in vivid technicolour !! The 2nd link is worth reading for the details of the widow's offering.

Our LORD is so good.
