"The Watchmen"

Hello John and Doves,

In studying the prophets of the Old Testament (Jeremiah, Daniel, Isaiah, etc) I believe that it should have been apparent to the 'Watchmen' of the Jewish people when G-d was coming down to them; they should have known the day of the Messiah's birth; they should have known on which day the Messiah was coming to make His triumphant entry into Jerusalem...if they'd read the scriptures, studied the prophecies, followed Jesus and His ministry, if they'd kept WATCH!

G-d had a specific date (day, month, year) picked out for the Messiah's birth, specific dates picked out for the start and the end of the Messiah's ministry, and a specific date picked out for His 'triumphant' entry into Jerusalem.

Jesus often said 'the kingdom of G-d' is here - meaning Him, He brought the Kingdom of G-d to earth.  But the Watchmen were blinded and their hearts hardened.

Jesus admonished them for NOT knowing!  They were suppose to watch for Him.  The Watchmen could have rallied the people and when Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem they would have accepted Him as their King.  But they didn't watch and they didn't see Him for who He is.

Luke 19:41 - 42:

"As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it and said, "IF ONLY you had known on THIS day what would bring you peace!  But now it is hidden from your eyes."

If they were true Watchmen, they would have known the Messiah/G-d was coming to them to be crowned King on Nissan 10!

"If you, even you, had only known on THIS day...."

Because they 'did not recognize the day', they 'did not recognize the time', because they 'knewest not' - they missed Him.

"This day" was Nissan 10.  This is THE day they should have known if they'd been watching for Him.  Jesus admonished them for this.  And He again admonishes us for not watching for Him the next time He comes - in the Rapture.

When we look at scriptures where Jesus is telling US to watch for Him - Jesus is saying that if we do not watch we will not know when He is coming and it will be a surprise.  He tells us that we are to understand this -  that if we do watch, we will know the time and if we don't watch, He will come upon us like a thief in the night.

Matthew 24:43

"But KNOW THIS, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would have come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up."

If you know the day, you will not be surprised by 'the thief'.

There is a specific day - a date - set aside by G-d for the Rapture.  Watchmen on the wall, keep watch!

Jesus goes on and says:

Matthew 24:45

"Who, then is the faithful and wise servant?  The master will put that person in charge of giving the other servants their food at the right time."

This isn't about 'food' - it's about watching and giving information about what 'time it is' in terms of His return.  It's about passing on information and encouragement to those the Watchman is in charge of.

Jesus blesses the Watchman and all watching for His return!

Matthew 24:46

"Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns."

I believe that all of us here are 'Watchmen' - we are awaiting for the return of our Master.
We are studying the prophecies, reading the news, watching what's happening with Jerusalem and Israel, paying attention to the signs and the seasons, reading the many letters on 5Doves (thank you John!).

Stay strong in your 'watch' with much prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving!

Philippians 4:6

"Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

Maranatha!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
