"Numbers in the Bible
Are Important!"
Numbers in the Bible
Are Important!
By Pastor F. M. Riley

"All Scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect,
throughly furnished unto all good works," 2 Timothy
3:16-17.
"We have also a more sure Word of
prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a
light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the
day star arise in your hearts;
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of
the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time
by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were
moved by the Holy Ghost."
2 Peter 1:19-21
Introduction
Yes, I do use the numbers found in the
Bible, when writing out my Bible Studies. Why should I
not? Because some Bible reader will not put forth the
effort to seriously study the numbers which occur in the Bible?
I think much more of what God's
Word actually and literally says, than what some of my
critics have to say. Since "all Scripture" is inspired of
God, and there are numbers which do occur in the Scriptures,
then those numbers are a part of the inspired Word. Since
the numbers are in the Bible, they had to have been placed
there by the Holy Spirit of the living God. So the numbers
in the Bible do convey spiritual truth, just like the words do.
And now I will give to my readers
Scriptural proof of what I have just said.......
The Regathering of the Jewish People
Both the dispersion and regathering of
the Jewish people are prophesied in many different places in the
inspired Word. The "time element" predicted for their
regathering is "the last days." Read Psalm 106:47, Isaiah
11:12, 43:5-6, 54:7-8, Jeremiah 23:3, and 29:14.
Therefore "the last days" literally
began in 1897 when Theodor Herzl convened the First Jewish
Congress at Basle, Switzerland, for the specific purpose of
finding a national homeland again for his "wandering Jewish
people." There is no question that this was the first
serious effort to regather the Jewish people back to a national
homeland for them all, so we can depend on this date as the
beginning of their regathering. Glory to God!
I do not know if the literal number,
1897, is found anywhere in the Bible. If so, I have never
run across it in my studies. However, I do know that the
numbers derived from studying this "date" in history, are
mentioned over and over again in the Scriptures. What do I
mean?
Well, it was exactly 21 years after
1897, that the First World War ended in 1918. That war
freed the holy land from the Ottoman Turks, who been in
possession of it for 400 years. The driving out of the
Ottoman Turks by the allied forces in the First World War, would
make it possible for the Jewish people to ultimately
re-establish their nation back in their own ancient homeland
some thirty years later, in 1948. How good and gracious is
our God!
"21" is the number in the Bible
which signifies, "A covering of or for sin; the 21 judgments of
the Tribulation." It will be during the coming seven year
Tribulation period, that 21 judgments will be poured out upon
humanity on the earth. Those 21 judgments will purge
both Israel, and the Gentile nations, left beind on the
earth at the rapture, of their unbelief in rejecting Christ as
their Messiah and Savior. Glory to God!
"30" is the number in the Bible which
signifies, "blood; covenant of blood." The First World War
ended in 1918, freeing the holy land from the Ottoman
Turks. Then thirty years later in 1948 the Jewish people
re-established their own nation again in the holy land, and the
time of blood began. Modern Israel is surrounded by Muslim
nations [the descendants of Esau], who literally hate the Jews
and want to see Israel and the Jewish people destroyed.
Due to this situation Israel has had to fight several wars with
their neighbors since becoming a nation again. Israel has
been in an almost constant state of war since being established
as a nation again in 1948.
"50" is the number in the Bible which
signifies, "Jubilee; the coming of the Holy Spirit." The
Jubilee was a "holy year," which the Jewish people were to
observe every fifty years as recorded in Leviticus 25.
This chapter should be studied carefully by our readers.
In the year of Jubilee all land was to be returned to it's
rightful owners. Now let's add 50 uears to 1897, and it
brings us to 1947. It was in August of 1897 that Theodor
Herzl convened the First Jewish Congress to search for a
homeland for his wandering Jewish people. And it was in
August of 1947 that the United Nations voted to end the British
Mandate over the holy land and allow the Jews to re-establish
their own nation on their ancient homeland. Again,
just "coincidence," or the moving of the mighty hand of
God? The following year on May 14, 1948 the modern
nation of Israel was established.
"70" is the number in the Bible which
signifies, "Restoration; the restoration of Israel." On
May 14, 1948 the modern nation of Israel was established in the
holy land. This "just happened" [tongue in cheek] to be
exactly 70 years before this present year of 2018. Do our
readers suppose the Lord might be telling us something here?
However, this "70" can also be applied
another way. It was exactly 70 years from 1897 to the Six
Day War in Israel in 1967. In 1967 the
modern nation of Israel suffered a vicious surprise attack from
the Muslim nations surrounding them, in what is now referred to
as "the Six Day War. This war came upon Israel
exactly 70 years after Theodor Herzl began the regathering of
the Jewish people in 1897. Even though Israel was
surprised by this vicious attack, the armies of little Israel
struck back, and in just six days defeated the combined armies
of all the Muslim nations which had come against them.
After that, the Muslim nations surrounding Israel have been very
cautious about attacking God's chosen people. In fact, two
of those Muslim nations, Egypt and Jordan, have both made a
"Peace Treaty" with Israel.
Now having shown our readers the
numerical significance of these various numbers, lets see if we
can use them in determining the fulfillment of future prophetic
events.
Whoa! Can this possibly be
correct? The next year of real prophetic importance in
Israel's restoration to God and Christ Jesus is the year
2018. But the Scriptures are quite plain that the
Lord God will not, and does not, turn back to the nation and
people of Israel until after the resurrection and rapture of His
Gentile Church and people. So since it is exactly 70 years
from the Six Day war in 1967 to 2018, is the Lord God indeed
trying to tell us living today, that He is coming for us in
2018? Let's think about this for a minute or two.....
"100" is the number in the Bible which
signifies, "To call, choose, or elect." The "voice" of the
Lord Jesus, calling all of His New Covenant believers to come
"home" to Him, is what all true believers are listening for, 1
Thessalonians 4:16. Job, when speaking of the resurrection
of the believer, said many centuries ago, "If a man die, shall
he live again? all the days of my apointed time will I
wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I
will answer Thee: Thou wilt have a desire to the work of Thine
hands," Job 14:14-15.
Now going back to the number, "21,"
which we began this study with; it was exactly 21 years from
1897 to 1918, when the First World War was brought to an
end. At that time, it was highly proclaimed to be "the
war" that would end all wars! But it didn't!
But now let's move forward from 1918 exactly 100 years, and, lo
and behold, the year is 2018. Remember that "100" is the
number in the Bible signifying, "to call, choose, or
elect." Is this one of the Lord's ways of telling His
people, that He is coming to resurrect and rapture us to glory
in 2018?
I've said enough! YOU decide!
