"God"
Any attempt to define or explain who God is by mere words
or the knowledge and wisdom of men is sheer folly and arrogance
-
God Is - He exists - He is who He reveals to us. He is a
Spirit and to our spirit He relates to us as He choses. To
think that we can argue with words and facts and somehow capture
God's essence and nature into our own personal doctrines to
define our theology is futile and a waste of God's grace in our
lives. For if one can persuade the masses that his
particular doctrine and teaching is correct - so can
another. However, we are not left to our own devices and
therefore without hope. We have God's expressed
image in Jesus Christ, His written word to us and we have
The Holy Spirit who was sent to us - to live in us - to instruct
us and to lead us into all truth. If we fail to properly
relate back to God it is our fault as individuals. It is a
personal (not corporate) relationship that God seeks from each
of us.
Paul said; And when I came to you, brethren, I
did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom,
proclaiming to you the testimony of God. For I determined to
know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I
was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, and
my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of
wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that
your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power
of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5
