"Re Steve Mullin Re-visiting Reasons for a Spring Rapture"
Hi there Steve,
I was inspired by your post where you you give reasons why a Spring
rapture should be considered alongside the fall. I agree with you that
we should not discount 'this' time even though we await the fulfilment
of the 'fall feasts.' I in particular love the way you draw upon the
Song of Solomon, Four months to harvest, As in the days of Noah and
Jericho and the bride. I see much here now that you reveal that I never
appreciated before. I am always amazed when God reveals a truth in his
words that has been hidden in plain site. When we look at a scripture
for an age with eyes that don't see and then.... we do. Its a wonderful
moment and I thank you for helping to reveal hidden truths to me in
these scriptures.
Like you I believe that a spring rapture is a reasonable choice. I am of
the opinion that the time of the 'feast of the ascension' is a strong
candidate for the rapture. As I have stated in previous posts we can
only share in Jesus salvation. One body, one faith, one baptism etc.
Ours is a collective salvation included inside of Jesus. That is why
outside of him there is no salvation for any of us. I believe we will
share collectively in Jesus own ascension (rapture), which this year
will be represented 40 says after Jesus rose from the dead which makes
May 14/15 time very special. I notice that you concur with the idea that
Ascension day is a good possible candidate for a rapture date. I worry
when I believe I see something from God which is not attested to by
other witnesses. I am firmly convinced I am not that special.
There is an area of interest that I believe God was illuminating to me
back in 1985. This involved the Barley, Wheat, Oil, and Grapes as you
refer to it. It was then that God led me to the story of Jacob meeting
with Rachel at the well. Jesus revealed the importance of this well. By
being led there by the father to talk to the Samaritan woman. How
diminished we would be in our understanding of Jesus purpose if this
story was never told
As I contend in an earlier post the three flocks of God in the Old
Testament await watering at the well. They can not be watered until the
last flock brought in by Rachel is arrived at the well. Then the stone
is rolled away and all the flocks watered. The three Barley harvests are
the people of God in the Old testament. Abraham to King David, David
until the exile, then from here until Jesus. Barley crops are synonymous
with the people of God in the Old Testament. Then Jesus comes who
refers to himself as the first grain of Wheat. A grain of wheat who must
fall to the ground and die so as to produce a wheat harvest. These are
the four flocks that will eventually wait at the well to be given the
water of life. Rachel in the Old Testament represents the spirit of God
that will bring in the wheat harvest. Please notice no other harvests or
flocks waiting at the well. What happened to the oil and the grape
harvests that you speak of ? This confused me for a long time until I
believe God showed me an answer.
From the Samaritan woman at the well, I was taken to the time Jacob
encountered Rachel at the well. Now God took me to Revelation 6:4
International Standard Version
I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living creatures,
saying, "One day's ration of wheat for a day's wage, or three day's
ration of barley for a day's wage! But don't damage the olive oil or the
wine!"
In some sense this was a part of a legally binding agreement regarding
payment in lieu of work completed. The work completed was done by Jesus,
the lamb, procuring for himself a people as payment for two days work.
Three Barley harvests as a days payment, and One wheat harvest as a days
payment. This salvation is written into God's judgement as his wrath
unfolds. These flocks have been bought and paid for by Jesus.
The identifying feature that the black horseman of the apocalypse has to
look for and not injure are those who have a specific anointing with
oil and those covered with a particular type of wine. The wine is the
blood of the lamb Jesus. The Oil is the sealing with his Holy Spirit.
Matthew 13:39 The harvest is the close of the Age, and the reapers are
angels.
Consider Jesus turns the waters to wine...at a wedding feast. Water to
wine death into life. These waters are the baptismal waters for all
those in the Body of Jesus. Nothing less than crossing over from death
to life. This rider carries the scales of Justice. These flocks or grain
harvests are covered from God's judgement, their redemption bought and
paid for by Jesus work.
I find it amazing when the Holy Spirit reveals something because
sometimes it seems he wants to give more. The significance of Jesus
'Last Supper' became more clear. John 17:19 I sanctify myself that they
might be sanctified.
Jesus is the first grain of barley and wheat. When Jesus broke the bread
he was identifying with the four harvests of barley and wheat. When he
was broken they were within him bought and and paid for. None of these
harvests could be saved outside his loaf we are now all part of the same
loaf. Inside Jesus loaf we become infused with his yeast. We share his
miraculous birth, his Holy Spirit, his baptism, his relationship with
the father.
John 17:19 I sanctify myself that they might be sanctified. This awesome
statement reveals what Jesus understood and needed to do. He had to
sanctify himself because he knew our salvation would be found inside
him. Just like we share in Jesus faith, life, etc. we share in his
sanctification. Him in us and us in him. We are one ! He took the bread,
his body (the Barley and Wheat harvests will be included) and said this
is my body which will be given up for you. We share with him in a union
of His sanctification, His death, His resurrection and His ascension
As the depth of this revelation dawned I was bowled over. Clearly there
might well be many aspects of meaning that God reveals to each of us,
regarding his word. We serve an amazing God
With kind regards
Ozzie
