One Day until the Israel elections!!

I felt compelled to pray for Israel last night and the elections there were weighing on my mind. I had no clear sense of what I wanted to pray for, though so it ended up with a request for 'let thy will be done'. When I awoke I was thinking of 1 Thessalonians 5:3

While they are saying “peace and safety!” THEN DESTRUCTION WILL COME UPON THEM SUDDENLY like labour pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.

In a news article 'Mail Online' dated Monday 16 March 2015, under a banner headline reading 'Israel's Herzog: Labour's diplomatic answer to bombastic Bibi' it makes the following statement

But in the 15 months since taking the helm (the Labour Party), Herzog has tried to steer it back towards peace, holding talks in Ramallah with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas just 10 days after he was elected.

Herzog has pledged to revive peace talks with the Palestinians, which collapsed almost a year ago, telling Haaretz he was even prepared to "remove" Israeli settlements if necessary.

He has also vowed to implement comprehensive social and economic reforms and work to rehabilitate Israel's relationship with US President Barack Obama, which has frayed under Netanyahu.

Herzog's grandfather and namesake -- Rabbi Yitzhak (Isaac) HaLevi Herzog -- was Israel's first Ashkenazi chief rabbi.
