I am sorry I “perplexed” you when I attempted to answered your questions. I as well often feel that way after reading some of the posts on Doves. I think…….are they reading the same bible I am?
As per my posts to Doves……I try if at all possible to take the literal meaning of whatever scriptural topic I am concerned with and always try to include in my text the chapter and verse of scripture in order to point to God’s words on the topic and not mine.
And I learned a long time ago after being fooled completely for 40 years by the demonic Catholic religion not to take any man’s interpretation of the bible as true but to read it over and over again asking God for discernment. There are so many areas of scripture where the so called bible scholars / false teachers have lied to us and tried to seal in concrete their interpretation of a passage that is never to be questioned. Kind of like the global warming crowd trying to tell us as we freeze to death that we are fools to question what they call “settled science“. I live in upstate New York, there is still two feet of snow on the ground and nightly lows are in the single digits. Snow is expected for the weekend........there is no spring here......and the trend for this part of the continent is (and has been) global cooling.
In other areas of scripture I have thrown in my discernment or common sense conclusions after reading a passage in what I’ll call…..cause and effect. If God says He will literally do this and that…….I will share with Doves what I believe the effects of this and that are.
For instance, in Revelation 6 at the sixth seal God says that He is going to retract earth’s atmosphere up into space like a scroll. He then says all these objects will be falling to earth and a third of the trees and all the grass will be burned up and great pollution and damage will happen to a third of earth’s waters. Are these calamities the cause and effect of temporally removing earth’s atmosphere as God says He will do? Yes, I believe they would be.
All of the satellites (some nuclear) the space station and space junk that we have inserted and polluted God’s heavens with would with our gravity extended much farther out into space be then subject to this gravity and would fall back to earth. In doing so they would appear to John the Revelator as stars falling from heaven as he wrote in verse 13. And this also could explain what is depicted in some of the trumpet judgments as well which I believe happen at the same general time frame.
Also with our earth’s protective atmosphere temporally removed and God stopping the rotation of the planet at that time (as per Habakkuk 3:11) whatever side of the planet is facing the sun will literally be toasted.
At least two places in scripture tell us that this will happen at night (Jerusalem time) such as 2 Peter 3:10. That means that if it’s night in the Middle East chances are it will be light or daytime in the Americas and the Pacific ocean…… meaning that that’s the third of the planet that would be facing the sun without the protection of our atmosphere…….and is burned up. Would not that answer the burning question (pun intended) as to why the United States seemingly doesn’t play a role during the 7 years of Jacob’s trouble.
In my opinion……there are many areas of scripture where the false teachers have led people astray and confused them to the point where seeing the end time scenario for what it really is becomes very difficult.
Example……”They “ say that the seven seals are judgments when they are anything but……they have been and will be loving interventions by Jesus and God the Father. Revelation 5 paints this picture of millions of inhabitants and creatures of heaven and earth rejoicing in extreme bliss that Jesus stepped forward as worthy to open the seals. Do you rally think that these millions of beings and creatures that occupy the cosmos would be beside themselves with joy if the seals were terrible judgments? NO !!!!! Read my Dove posts on this that portray the seals as what they have been and will be……loving interventions……right down to lovingly extracting us from harms way during the sixth seal.
Another example……”They” say that during the fourth seal a fourth of the earth is killed. That’s not what the bible says. It says that some group will have power or domain over a land mass that encompasses one fourth of the earth and in that area this group will kill, starve and butcher people. The Muslims now occupy one fourth of the earth that is under their control. Is the horror of what is written in the fourth seal not happening there now? Will Jesus and God the Father intervene and stop the slaughter ? The bible says…yes
Another example……”They” say that the first beast in Revelation 13 who we call the antichrist will suffer a head wound but be miraculously healed. That’s not what the bible says. It says that this beast has seven heads and we learn in Revelation 17 that these seven heads represent seven kings. It then says that one of the heads meaning one of these kings suffers some sort of deadly wound but the wound was healed. And it says that at some point this beast (king) will rise from the bottomless pit to the extreme marvel of all present that are on the earth. For they will know this person / being…….. for he was, and is not, and yet is. Meaning that the people will recognize a person that they knew who had died and yet appears to have risen from the grave.
Another example…….”They” say the number of the first beast, the antichrist, is 666. That’s not what the bible says the way I read those verses.
In Revelation 13 God exclusively dedicated 8 verses to the first beast the antichrist and he dedicated 8 verses exclusively to the second beast the false prophet. To insure that we (bible readers) would not mix up these verses adding apples to oranges so to speak God separated each group of 8 verses with two verses that don’t flow with either of the two groups of 8 verses. I believe He did this to insure a hard separation between the descriptions of the two beasts.
But….”They” insist that we take the last description of the second beast and add it to the description of the first beast. So “they” have demanded that we take a verse out of context and accept the number 666 as a representation of the first beast when it was meant by God to be the last description of the second beast, the false prophet.
Many people have taken this number of 666 and through mathematics have rightfully pinned it to Obama. They then deduct by taking this one bible verse out of context that he must be the antichrist when all along (I believe) that they have proved he is or will become the false prophet.
If one knew nothing of the bible but were just to weight and describe the actions, proclamations and rhetoric of Obama…..what would be a fitting title for him? Would it not be the one I believe God gave him…….a false prophet. Almost everything that comes out of his mouth is a falsehood not to mention all of his personal past history. A complete whitewashed covered up false life.
Many other areas of scripture that are extremely relative and important to the end times scenario are seemingly ignored by these so called bible scholars. There are dozens of passages of scripture concerning ….the Day of the Lord, the “banner” scriptures of Jesus’ face appearing in the sky and God’s exceedingly great end times army. When one puts together all these passages they portray a clear picture of all of the end time happenings but when was the last time you heard any of these so called bible scholars discuss these three issues.
So Gino, you are not the only one perplexed by the lack of information or the disinformation that is out there. And the Heinz 57 assorted views of what the bible says or does not say on any particular issue.
After many years and thousands of hours of reading and re-reading I believe that I have a solid grasp of what will transpire just before, at the start and during the 7 years of Jacobs trouble and I believe that the kickoff is when Israel is attacked which will prompt God the Father and Jesus to orchestrate……the Day of the Lord (and all that that entails)……the most horrific day I believe this planet will ever witness. If one has read his or her bible and understands what will transpire on that day the fear factor will be diminished……… but for those who are clueless the bible says that men’s hearts will fail them for those (terrible, horrifying) things that will be happening to the earth.
