Subject: Signs of Arrival—Adar 29, 5775—End of Jewish Calendar Year 2014 in Five Days!

 

 

One year ago Shushan Purim fell on Sunday March 16, 2014 as I posted in a Five Doves Article (URL LINKs following).

Now exactly one year later on Monday, March 16, 2015 the Eve of the Jewish Feast of Purim arrives by the Julian calendar.  The Biblical date for Jewish Purim was Adar 13 (March 4, 2015) by the Chabad calendar; and, started on the Eve of Tuesday March 3, 2015.  Since the Julian calendar is 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar the calculation for conversion is as follows:

 

On the Gregorian calendar March 4, 2015 started @ sunset March 3rd (Adar 13, 5775). March 3 + 13 days—(Conversion to Julian calendar) = Monday March 16, 2015 @ sunset.  Notice that this is both the Eve of the Israeli elections; and, the Eve of Jewish Purim on the Julian calendar.  Do you see that?  Tuesday March 17, 2015 starts at sunset on Monday, Monday March 16, 2015 which is tied to Sunday March 15 "The Ides of March".  This definitely bears watching!

  

 

How many days are there from January 20, 2009 and March 3, 2015?  Answer:   2233 Days (a Chiasmus of 223 and 322).
