Hi Everybody,I found something interesting today at TorahCalendar.comYom Teruah is New Years Day, or Rosh Hashanah, for 49 out of 50 civil years on the creation calendar. The only exception is a jubilee year when day 10 of month 7, which is Yom Kippur, is also New Years Day or Rosh Hashanah. See Numbers 29:1.
That is why all the signs seem to be pointing at September 23rd (Yom Kippur) instead of the traditional date of Rosh Hashanah, which is September 13 this year.
Something else to think about: It is traditional for a Jewish groom to be late getting to the wedding. Most are looking for the wedding to start on the traditional date of Rosh Hashanah (September 13, 2015) but it is looking more and more like we will have to wait for the 10 Days of Awe between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to pass.
This reminds me of the parable of the ten virgins who went out to wait for the groom and how half of them ran out of oil. They went out to get more oil and missed the wedding party. When they finally showed up at the wedding hall they were denied entrance. The groom told them to depart because He never knew them.
The grooms response has always seemed strange to me. He said He never knew them. How could He have not known them?
Now it dawns on me. As we get closer and closer to September there will be more and more people jumping on the rapture bandwagon. When nothing happens on September 13th they will be the first to fall the bandwagon and resume mocking the whole idea of a rapture. They were merely caught up in the moment. That is why Jesus says he "never knew them."
The parable of the 10 virgins is in Matthew 25, immediately after Mathew 24 where Jesus answers questions about his return. The two are closely linked together.
Just some of my thoughts as I sit up here on the wall watching for His return. Sure does get lonely watching away in these early morning hours. It is cold up here as well. Almost as cold as our recent treatment of Israel.
