This has been a BRUTAL Winter in Orlando!!

I remember when I moved to Florida 29 years ago this past January. There was a horrible snow storm on the drive from Chicago to Indianapolis and it was like God said "Don't ever complain about the heat in Florida!" Heat in Florida? Not this winter! That "Global Warming" thing just isn't as warm as it used to be!

I have lost count of the number ...of days when the temperature this winter didn't even get to 70 degrees! And the pool is still below the swimmable temperature of 75 degrees, too! This is simply unacceptable!! We may have to move to Miami next year!

I was in Naples, FL about a month ago to play golf. It was so cold! The wind was blowing and a cold front was moving through. I even had to put my sweatshirt on....and you know I just hate to have to wear extra clothing when I play. I barely managed to get in all 18 holes! Whew...what a day!

It was so cold over Christmas that we decided, like a lot of you, to fly south to a warmer climate. We flew to the British Virgin Islands. It was so warm there, that when we got back to Orlando, we were actually COLD inside the house at 71 degrees! Wow! This year we have had to use ONE full box of those fake logs for the fireplace to keep the house at a more comfortable temperature. Why, there must be at least 12 logs in each box! You know, it's ironic......sometimes we've even had to have the A/C on with a log on the fireplace to get just the right balance. lol.... What a mess!

If I hear "Arctic Vortex" one more time......I swear I'm going to hunt down one of those nasty meteorologists, throw him in my pool and shout "How do you like that? THAT is what cold is really all about". Can you relate? I'm sure you're just as mad about this as I am!

Incredibly, the tan I normally have all year long has even faded. I know, amazing, right? Look how white I am now...... I look like Lucy, and she's British! She always looks that way!

Well...I have to close now. This is the time of year when it gets cold enough to kill all the old leaves on the year-round Oak trees that hang over the pool.....and the pool is such a mess I'm going to have to go out and use the skimmer to clean the pool.

I do get some satisfaction knowing that your winter could not have possibly been THIS bad.

Spring simply can NOT come soon enough! Can I get an Amen?
