The Entebbe Rescue (1976): This is the Hebrew calendar date of Operation Thunderbolt (later renamed Operation Yonatan). Israeli commando units successfully raided the Entebbe Airport in Uganda to rescue more than 100 Jewish hostages held by terrorists.

Burning of the Talmud in Paris (1242): Following the Disputation of Paris, French authorities confiscated and burned 24 wagonloads of invaluable, hand-written sacred Hebrew books (Sifrei Kodesh) and Talmudic texts in a public square.

Crusader Massacre in Mehr (1096): During the First Crusade, Christian Crusaders attacked and massacred the Jewish community living in Mehr, Germany.
