“And I will send unto Babylon fanners, and they shall fan her, and shall empty her land.” Jeremiah 51: 2

     The word “fanners” appears once in scripture.  It is Strongs 2114:  fanner > zuwr- to turn aside (especially for lodging) hence to be a foreigner, strange, profane.

     Fallen, Fallen is Babylon the Great.   Ancient Babylon fell to its enemies from every side.  God sent fanners unto her to winnow her, foreigners to destroy her from all sides.

     The modern daughter of Babylon (Isaiah 47), the hindermost of the nations (Jeremiah 50:12), the endtime Mystery Megapolis is also fallen.  And like unto its mother, God has sent fanners to destroy her inside and out.

      Fanners create strife and turmoil in the land.  With the widespread influx of those who would destroy her, modern Babylon is currently at war with itself.  The nation reels from terror, murders, sedition, division, corruption, fraud, and massive theft of treasure.

      Babylon’s sworn enemies even now are rising to positions of governmental power, and the multitude of deliberations, investigations, and lawlessness have crippled the nation‘s ability to defend itself (cf. Isaiah 47:13).

     How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken!  How Babylon has become a desolation of the nations! (Jeremiah 50:23)  She will be completely destroyed.

     Bible Prophecy repeats itself with an alarming rhyme—Fallen, Fallen is Babylon the Great.  And if you wonder how Mystery Babylon can encompass a nation as well as a religious system, look to Jeremiah’s fanners for another clue.
