Yes, the thought of being ashamed when Jesus comes, is very troubling.

There have been times when that was very convicting, allowing for the spotlight of the Spirit, by the word of God, to focus in on a particular sin of mine.

I heard a preacher once give an exaggerated example, to drive the point home.

He was talking of a hypothetical Christian who had fallen back into a sin of his past, smoking marijuana.

The preacher mentioned the man inhaling a large lungful of smoke, and instantly the trumpet, body changed, and suddenly caught up in the air, meeting in the clouds.

Knowing that the body changed, but what happened to the smoke?

He was ashamed to exhale, lest smoke would still come out.

Everyone listening knew that this was not real, but it did cause all of us to consider the thought of being ashamed at his appearing.

To be actively involved in rebellious, sinful behavior, towards the end of our time here on earth, is not something that anyone would want.

The following also has a similar affect:

Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
