I believe that the US may be a TYPE of commercial Babylon, but I'm sure that the Spiritual Whore of Rev 17 is ROME, the city on 7 hills, not NY City and here is why:
* The colors of the USA are NOT purple & scarlet! They are red, white & blue, but Rome's colors ARE! Justwatch any conclave of the bishops & cardinals and all you see is Purple (on the bishops) and scarlet (on the cardinals) everywhere!
* You can go to the Vatican's website & they even call themselves the "city of 7 hills"! The Vatican is the wealthiest organization in the entire world! They were asked one time what the Vatican wealth was worth & a Vatican spokesman said, "Only God knows!" WHY is it do you think that every time a pope dies, every nation in the world sends a leader to the funeral? It's because they know who holds the wealth of the world in their hands, and the biggest amount of gold! It is the Vatican.
*The US is not drunk with the blood of the saints & the blood of the martyrs of Jesus, but Rome is. Not just Imperial Rome, but Papal Rome especially. It is estimated that during the infamous & bloody Inquisitions of Rome, more than 40 million Bible believing Christians were tortured & murdered for rejecting the heresies of Papal Rome!
*She is decked with "gold and precious stones and pearls"... The Vatican's wealth is immeasurable! She could sell just ONE of her "priceless" paintings for billions and someone would buy it just to get their hands on an original artwork from one of the master artists of ages past! It is nauseating to listen to priests get in the pulpit and beg their congregations for donations for a "new school" or a "new Catholic hospital," when that money is peanuts to Rome with all of her lavish wealth! I saw one article on the internet where a diocese was begging for donations from the "faithful" because they claimed that their nuns were starving, and the deceived, blind & ignorant "faithful" were rushing to donate to assist the poor sisters of charity! There are NO nuns in the Bible, no popes, no cardinals.
*Speaking of "lavish lifestyles," does anyone on this earth live a more lavish lifestyle than the Pope of Rome, with his embroidered garments, gold palace with priceless art for ceilings, golden crown with 3 layers of priceless pearls, rubies, diamonds & emeralds, not to mention his ornate, lavish Italian summer palace, Castel Gandolfo? People fawn over him, women faint in his presence, grown men bow at his feet, kiss his ring (and sometimes his feet too)! The Vatican has its own army, its own bank & prints its own money! Nearly every nation in the world sends their personal ambassadors to the Vatican, including the US.
*Rome has gained a great deal of her wealth through deception and lies with heresies like purgatory & the selling of indulgences! She truly has been engaged in the selling of the SOULS of men!
*This whore of Babylon has committed fornication with the kings of the earth. She abandoned the true Gospel & Jesus centuries ago & is now involved in intrigue & diplomacy with every nation on earth! Just read any history of the Jesuits to know that this is true! God calls this spiritual fornication! Rome isn't just a religious system. She is a political prostitute as well! She will prostitute herself for any cause as long as it enrichens her coffers!
*John was told that the religious whore was a city on 7 hills. Some prophecy teachers try to refer to this whore as the USA, but the USA is made up of thousands & thousands of cities, not just one city, and it can't be New York City because New York doesn't fit into any of the descriptions John saw for all the reasons listed here.
*All over the world every day, thousands of Roman Catholic priests offer up their "sacrifice of the Mass and they lift up a golden cup (a goblet), which they believe they have the power to change from wine into the actual blood of Jesus. This is spiritual fornication, as well as Rome's political interventions (via the Jesuits & other secret societies) into every major conflict in the world! She is guilty of spiritual fornication with every major political figure in the world, including all the US Presidents, past & present!
I think describing the great Babylon of Rev 17 as New York City or as the USA is doing a disservice to the body of Christ, because it is taking the heat off of the TRUE whore of Babylon & taking all the attention away from Rome & misdirecting it to the wrong entity, which keeps people from recognizing the truth about Rome, especially new babes in Christ who know very little about prophecy and the Book of Revelation!
Are you familiar with the videos of Gary Lowery? He was given dreams from the Lord several years ago that China, Russia, N. Korea & Iran were going to plot a tactical nuclear attack on the US and hit several major US States including cities in Florida, San Francisco, Washington State (near Puget Sound), near Chicago, and New York (Manhattan Island), and the country would be crippled beyond repair! Here's the thing - Mr. Lowery (who has a youtube channel "Bear049") has already had several visions & dreams from the Lord that have already come true in great detail. Here is one of his videos about the US being under a nuclear attack: North Korea and Russia attacks; pastors John Hagee and others do not listen
He made this video before Trump's 2nd term when Biden was still in office, but God told him about this several years ago! He tried to warn several Christian pastors, including John Hagee and they ignored & criticized him, and one even threatened him!
Lowery was a victim of UFO abductions for several years & it caused him to lose his faith & backslide because he couldn't understand why God didn't intervene & stop the abductions. He believed that it was aliens taking him, then one day God outright told him that they were "fallen angels," so then, of course, he knew the truth. His testimony is incredible. God has shown him many, many things that have come about just as he was told they would. He also believes that we go UP when the missiles come down!
