The video in the link contains an extended version of Sir Roger Penrose' wisdom on the limited powers of AI. This is a wonderful interview that clarifies so many things.
AI will never attain consciousness. It doesn't have a soul, for a start (my observation). I am not discounting how AI could be used, by the powers-that-be, to engender great destruction. But the fears that people have of an AI anti-Christ - the devil inhabiting a machine etc., is not feasible. The AC will undoubtedly use AI for evil purposes but he will need a human to instruct AI. A machine is a machine is a machine.
