Dear Doves,

Every now and then, someone here will express a feeling of homesickness for heaven.  I think that a lot of us have experienced this longing.  So, there is an exciting truth that is encouraging keep in mind – believers are already citizens of heaven. 

     “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God ….”  Ephesians 2:19. Also, in some marvelous way, we are seated in heavenly places with Christ: “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”  Ephesians 2:6. When I pray, I sometimes like to imagine that the Lord is sitting right next to me.  It makes my prayer more like a conversation with Him.

      I cannot fully comprehend how some of these truths can be synonymous with the here and now, but I think once our eyes are opened, we will be amazed to see how the spiritual world intersects with our physical world.

      So, Doves, if high alert days come and go, be of good cheer, for you are already citizens of heaven and the Lord is seated right next to you.
