"How many leaders of Israel since Moses"

Hi John and Doves,

Since Israel has a new leader, I would like to attach my old post.

How many leaders of Israel since Moses?

Moses is the first leader of Israel. After Moses died, Joshua continued his role and led Israelis cross the Jordan river, and entered the promised land. After Joshua died, God raised twelve judges. They are Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Deborah, Gideon, Tola, Jair, Jephthah, Ibzan, Elon, Abdon and Samson.

After the twelve judges, Israelis asked for Kings. Saul is the first king of Israel. I have attached a list of kings of Israel and Judah.

There are total of 42 kings including Saul. Since Israel's rebirth as a nation on May 14 1948, they have 12 modern day leaders/Prime Ministers. They are David Ben-Gurion, Moshe Sharett, Levi Eshkol, Golda Meir, Yitzhak Rabin, Manachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir, Simon Peres, Benjamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barak, Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert.

Here's the calculation.

Moses + Joshua + 12 judges + 42 Kings of Israel and Judah + 12 Prime Ministers = 68 leaders.

There will be a 69th leader to come after Netanyahu. Looks like he is Bennet.

Guess who shall be the 70th leader of Israel?

My take is Jesus. 70 is the number frequently used by God. It represents completion, and perfection. It makes sense Jesus is the 70th leader of Israel and Judah.
