Dear all,
I read about the Good Samaritan Parable which I read in one of the fivedoves articles couple of months back. Following is what I learnt about it in our Bible Study sessions.
Man who travelled from Jerusalem to Jericho - Adam who was evicted from Eden or presence of God to the world.Jerusalem - Place of PeaceJericho - Fragrance or attraction, that leads to curse (Joshua's curse). Attraction of fruit of tree of good and knowledgeThieves robbing clothes - Satan robbing garment of glory from Adam, opened his physical eyes to see his nakedness.Left him injured - Left mankind in sin, death and all evils.Priest came and left - Law given by MosesLevi came and left - Prophets, [To assist priests or the second portion of OT along with Law]Samaritan - JesusCuring his injuries with Oil and Wine - Curing mankind by His Spirit and sacrificial blood offeringRode on His own Camel - Gave humans truthInn - Church or place where Truth is preachedInnkeeper - Anointed ministers and apostles who preaches the gospel to heal. Two Pieces of silver - Old Testament and New Testament ( as silver represents the Word of God Psalm 12:6)Will reward when He comes back - He rewards His faithful servant during His return.Who is the neighbour - One who loved, that means Jesus is the neighbour of us all and not only that Jesus told the scribe to go and do the same and that means we are also supposed to love like Jesus.
But it also makes sense to see the two bucks as 2000 year gospel period before His return. Hope the above also gives other perspective if you haven't thought about the parable in that fashion.
