I have a question from Zechariah 5:
Zechariah 5:5 Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
"What is this", the word, "this", implies singular thus far?
Zechariah 5:6 And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.
"What is it?", is not the word, "it", singular?"ephah", is not the word, "ephah", singular?"their resemblance", is not the word, "their", plural, however? So what is, "their", referring to?
Zechariah 5:7 And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.8 And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
Could we say that this woman "felt lead"?When we tell people that we "felt led", is it not to give them the impression that the Holy Ghost "led" us?Is that almost as brazen as saying, "the LORD told me …"?Since we don't usually qualify who or what "led" us, doesn't it give the impression that the Spirit "led" us?After all, how can others then reject what we tell them we "felt led" about?
Zechariah 5:9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?11 And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
The two women with wings are clearly not terrestrial children of Adam, but are apparently celestial beings. So, is the woman, sitting in the midst of the ephah, also a celestial being? If so, then are there many different types of celestial species, like there are terrestrial species? Are there not also cherubim and seraphim, and the four beasts before the throne? The horse that Jesus rides back from heaven on, does that not indicate other celestial species? If so, then do some of the celestial species have gender distinction? The woman in the ephah is not mentioned has having wings, but the other two, do.But it says that they are women, of the female gender. Is it possible, that other celestial species may have either male and female gender? Not that they relate sexually, like terrestrial species do, but that they at least have gender distinctions?Even the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are called, "he", not, "it", or, "she".
Again, what is, "their resemblance through all the earth", referring to?The only plural seems to be the two women with wings - is that what it is referring to?Or are there multiple ephahs with wickedness within them, throughout the earth?
Who builds that house in the land of Shinar? The people living in Shinar?Or the two women with wings?Or people involved with the wickedness?
