I was always
taught, and read, that at the second advent, Jesus
descends exactly as he ascended.
That he will
descend feet first, and that his feet will first
touch the same mount of Olives,
on
the exact same spot on that mount that he ascended
to heaven from.
That this will
also be the fulfillment of:
Zechariah
14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day
upon the mount of Olives, which is
before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of
Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the
east and toward the west, and there
shall be a very great valley; and half of the
mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of
it toward the south.
However,
Zechariah doesn't necessarily say that his feet will
touch down on the mount of Olives,
but
that his feet shall stand there.
I realize that it may sound like I'm making
much ado about nothing.
However, I was wondering about the
following:
Revelation
19:11 And I saw heaven
opened, and behold a white horse;
and he that sat upon him
was called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war.
16
And he hath on his vesture and on
his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF
LORDS.
19
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and
their armies, gathered together to make war against
him that sat on the horse, and
against his army.
21
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth:
and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
So, does Jesus
descend feet first, or does he come back sitting on
a horse?
Does he come back
first to Bozrah?
Does he first come
back to Paran in Edom, and fight his way to Bozrah and
Petra?
Jude 14
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of
these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten
thousands of his saints,
15 To
execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that
are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds
which they have ungodly committed, and of all their
hard speeches which ungodly sinners
have spoken against him.
Like a secondary
fulfillment of:
Deuteronomy
33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai,
and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth
from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of
saints: from his right hand went a
fiery law for them.
Does he first
deliver those who have been hidden in the wilderness
for 1260 days,
possibly
in Bozrah and Petra?
Then does he fight
from Bozrah up to Israel?
Isaiah 63:1 Who
is this that cometh from Edom, with
dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is
glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness
of his strength? I that speak in righteousness,
mighty to save.
2
Wherefore art thou red in thine
apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in
the winefat?
3
I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the
people there was none with me: for I
will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in
my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my
garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
4
For the day of vengeance is in mine
heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
5
And I looked, and there was none to
help; and I wondered that there was
none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought
salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
6
And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and
make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down
their strength to the earth.
Then does he fight
to deliver those of Judah first?
Zechariah
12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of
Judah first, that the glory of the house of David
and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not
magnify themselves against Judah.
Then does he fight
in the valley of decision?
Joel 3:11
Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and
gather yourselves together round about: thither
cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
12
Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the
valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to
judge all the heathen round about.
13
Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe:
come, get you down; for the press is full, the
vats overflow; for their wickedness is
great.
14
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision:
for the day of the LORD is near in
the valley of decision.
Then does he finally
come to fight and deliver Jerusalem?
And
then at that time, stand upon the mount of Olives,
and then there is the earthquake?
Zechariah
14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and
fight against those nations, as when he fought in
the day of battle.
4
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount
of Olives, which is before
Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall
cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and
toward the west, and there shall be
a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall
remove toward the north, and half of it toward the
south.
12
And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will
smite all the people that have fought against
Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they
stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume
away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume
away in their mouth.
