Hello John and Doves,
PM Netanyahu had
announced that he will annex parts of the West Bank, the
'strategic' Jordan Valley and dozens of Jewish
settlements. He wants to begin this process in
July.
On 6
June, thousands of Israelis had a rally against the
West Bank annexation plan.
Looks like not all
Israelis are on board with annexing part of the West
Bank. Protesters against annexation are saying
this does not bring solidarity between Israelis and
Palestinians. It will not achieve anything.
Some believe this
annexation will violate international law and inflame
tensions.
President Trump's
Middle East plan gives Israel 'approval' to annex Jewish
settlements (subdivisions) and other parts of the West
Bank. PM Netanyahu may be submitting this plan to
his cabinet and to parliament on July 1 for a possible
vote of approval.
The plan includes a
Palestinian state with less territory and no capital in
east Jerusalem. The Palestinians are against the
plan, of course.
Many Muslim countries
have spoken out against this plan and annexation -
Jordan has been particularly vocal. And Russia and
Turkey have rejected the plan.
Pray for the peace of
Jerusalem!
Maranatha!
