"The Seven Years Of
the Tribulation Period"
The Seven Years
Of the Tribulation Period
By Pastor F. M. Riley
June 19, 2019
"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people
and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make
an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to
bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision
and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy," Daniel 9:24.
"Some indeed preach Christ even of envy
and strife: and some also of good will.
The one preach Christ of contention,
not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
But the other of love, knowing that I
am set for the defence of the gospel," Philippians 1:17.
Introduction
I am writing this study because some who
"profess" to be Bible believing Christians, simply cannot or
will not, believe what the prophecies of God's Word
plainly say and teach. They claim to believe the
prophecies of God's Word, yet busy themselves with denying
plainly stated prophecies, twisting the meanings of prophecies,
and rearranging the inspired Word, in order to make the
prophecies say what they want them to say.
This doesn't sound like true believers to me, and the warning
given by the Lord Himself is still in the Bible, Matthew
7:15. Take heed!
The Latest Popular False Teaching
There is a growing number of
"professing" Christians, claiming to know and understand Bible
prophecy, who have decided that there is no seven year
Tribulation. That the tribulation is only three and a half
years in length, and they don't mind denying
Scriptures, and twisting Scriptures to prove their claim.
Glaringly Evident Truth
The inspired Word explicitly states
that "God's two witnesses" have a ministry of "a thousand two
hundred and threescore days," Rev. 11:3. Then "when they
shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth
out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall
overcome them, and kill them," Rev. 11:7.
Is this stated clearly enough for all
of our readers with some degree of intelligence to understand?
The "two witnesses" carry out a full
three and one-half years of ministry BEFORE they are killed by
"the beast, Rev. 11:3.
Then the inspired Word clearly
and distinctly states that "power" is given to "the beast"
to "continue forty and two months," Rev. 13:5. This is
obviously AFTER he has come up out of the bottomless pit,
11:7. He doesn't even come up out of the bottomless pit
until the middle of the Tribulation, when the "two witnesses"
"shall have finished their testimony," 11:7. Then he
continues to live and work his evil on the earth and mankind for
the next "forty and two months."
For those readers who never learned
numbers in grade school, the "forty and two months" in which
"the beast" will continue to exercise his power over mankind on
the earth, is a second period of 1,260 days.
Now it doesn't take a mental
giant to add these clearly stated two periods of time together
[1,260 + 42 months], and see that the time span covered by these
two distinct periods of tiime, is seven years of 360 days to a
year. That is a total of 2,520 days, or the length of the
seven year Tribulation period. Gee! Figuring
that out must have been a real drain on the mentality of some of
these self-appointed "prophecy CHANGERS."
Any grade school child who knows how to
add and subtract numbers can calculate this truth for
themselves, but apparently some of these highly educated, know
it all, "prophecy teachers" who have decided that the
Tribulation is only three and a half years long, just aren't
that intelligent.
AND, IF THE SHOE FITS, WEAR IT!
Overlooked or Ignored Truth
A truth commonly overlooked or ignored
by some of these self-proclaimed "authorities" on Bible
prophecy, is that inspired Scripture is a perfect harmony, and
that every Scriptural truth in the Bible, upholds and supports
every other Scriptural truth in the Bible. Read the
Apostle Paul's "key" for understanding spiritual truth, as given
to the Lord's church, in 1 Corinthians 2:13. And now let's
take a close look at this truth.......
The "Shadow" Cast by the Law
In Colossians 2:16-17, the inspired
Word clearly states,
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or
in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or
of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come;
but the body is of Christ."
Now if our readers are willing and able
to do so, take a good Concordance or Hebrew Lexicon, and look up
and study the word, "seven," each place it occurs in the Old
Testament. Even a casual study of this word in your Bible
will reveal that it sets forth type after type of the
SEVEN YEAR Tribulation period. No! Not 3 1/2 years,
not 2300 days, not some other period of time, but rather SEVEN
YEARS. There are enough of these places in the Old
Testament, that I could write a book dealing with each one of
them. But I don't have the time, nor the inclination to do
so. Search them out for yourselves.
Now those readers who do not believe
that God's Word is Divinely Inspired, may shrug this off as mere
"coincidence." But it isn't!
God's Word, from beginning to end, is a
supernaturally Divinely Inspired book, and there are no
"coincidences" in it. God says what He means in His Word,
and His Word means what it says.
All of these types set forth a seven
year tribulation period. Not a day more, and not a day
less. The length of the Tribulation period, according to
the inspired Word of God will be a full SEVEN YEARS, consisting
of 360 days to the year; 2,520 days total.
These "false teachers" [2 Peter
1] who are desperately attempting to CHANGE the
length of the Tribulation period, in order to make it "fit"
their theories are full of hot air and blabber. Be
careful in dealing with them. If you punch their button
too much, they will explode all over you, and constantly harrass
you with their unscriptural blabber. Be warned!
