Dear John and Doves,
It was reported in the news that on Palm SundayApril 14th, 2019 President Trump called Jimmy Carter to seek his advise on China.Ex-president Jimmy Carter told Mr.Trump not to go to war, that America was the most warlike nation in history.
[This author will further refer to Mr. Carter as JEC,James Earl Carter...not "JC" which could stand for "Jesus Christ".May there be no confusion here.]
There are two results from that phone call.1. J E C is perceived as an elder statesman whose advise and counsel are to be sought out.
2. The call was received during J E C's usual Sunday school classwhile he was teaching on peace and kindness, as reported.
The time, place and response were perfect for future references.
There have been others seeking Mr. Carter'srecommendations.Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Mayor PeteButtigeig of Indiana, and Sen. Cory Booker of NewJersey have all had audiences with Mr. Carter lately.
The media has picked up on this renaissance rise of J E C, and Mr. Carter even joked of possibly being a candidate for the 2020 elections.
All this noteriety has not been missed by the globalpress, and Mr. Carter's stature is sure to rise.
Will others too seek his advise?Across the pond, the EUhas, for the most part, been leaderless. Will they too seek the advise of this man of peace, as war looms on the horizon?
I, for one, will not be surprised.
In Jesus Name,A. Goodrick
Personally, I do not think of the U.S. as warlike.I believe that theU. S. is the greatest defender of freedom. As Judi McLeod of
says: "Because without America, there is no free world."
