Daniel 9:27 And he shall
confirm the covenant with many for one
week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the
sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the
overspreading of abominations he shall make it
desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined
shall be poured upon the desolate.
Why does "the covenant" mentioned in Daniel 9:27,
not mean the same "covenant" mentioned in Deuteronomy?
Deuteronomy 5:2 The LORD our
God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Deuteronomy 9:11 And it came to pass at
the end of forty days and forty nights, that
the LORD gave me the two tables of stone, even
the tables of the covenant.
Deuteronomy 31:25 That Moses commanded
the Levites, which bare the ark of the
covenant of the LORD, saying,
26 Take this book of
the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the
covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there
for a witness against thee.
Why must "the covenant" in Daniel 9:27 always be
referred to by prophecy experts, as a peace agreement, or a
strong military agreement?
Whereas being the same as the one mentioned in
Deuteronomy, would imply restoration of temple sacrifices, would
it not?
