I remember back in 2001, when still living in Africa, the news clip that came on the previous day on 8/11 from USA news, re the enormous amount of money that had gone missing. You know -  it was the first thing I thought of when 9/11 happened the next day. I thought, "Whoa - has this got something to do with the missing money?" It was my genuine first thought.
