"Keeping my focus on Jesus"

Hello

When this past Pentecost Sunday came and went, I came away feeling pretty discouraged.  I felt very drained.

I am fairly convinced that the transition from the church age of grace to God dealing with the world through Israel will take place at the Feast of Pentecost (Shavuot).  To me it is the Feast where God transitions dealing with humanity in some way.

The idea of waiting for another year was almost more than I could bare.  I have presented articles on this site that the unfolding of Pentecost would be even later in the summer but my theory also does not match the Song of Solomon hint seemingly pointing to the last part of spring.

My heart was crying out to God that I will need Him to sustain me because of the extreme lack I experienced within.  I am not sure if I have any more "watching" within me.

Part of my disheartenment was that it seemed that this year was going to be it.  I am thinking of a number of things here: the end of the 7-sevens after Israel got back Jerusalem and the temple mount, the sequence of the blood moons, even Glazerson's torah codes pointing to this year as well.

Granted, we can not know for sure, yet with all of the signs, I started to wonder, "What is the purpose of watching the signs if they only point to very general periods of time in terms of years?"  Or, I felt like telling others to "Just accept Jesus and learn to walk with Him, but don't bother with the prophecies.  When Jesus does come back for His bride, you will be pleasantly surprised."

This was my frame of mind.  I am just putting it on the table, so to speak.

During this past week, I have been a little encouraged that perhaps the true Pentecost will take place this coming Sunday according to a recent article on Zola Levitt's website.  He may be right yet I find myself trying to keep in mind that next Monday morning I will likely be heading into work yet again.  I am almost working hard to not get my hopes up.

The scriptures say that "Hope deferred makes the heart sick."  I know the truth of this as a fact.

However, this past week, during praying, meditating, reading scripture and articles, watching certain videos, I feel that God is pressing me to more frequently focus my heart, not so much on His Son's return, but to rest in His rest, to see my core self as being one with Him in Spirit.

"Those who are the Lord's are one spirit with Him."

All that Jesus is fills my spirit.  I am included in the love embrace of the Father, Son and Spirit, much like a child likes to get himself/herself into the middle of their parents hugging.

That is where we all are.  That is the reality we are to walk in.  I think this is what the scriptures mean when we are encouraged to walk after the Spirit.

Over the decades of living, I have found that I have been programmed to an extreme with a lie.  It is such a common illusion that in actuality everyone has fully embraced it.  It is so much a part of our thinking that it is like the ribbons of fudge in fudge ripple ice cream.  No matter how you try to scoop it, you end up with fudge ripples.

Yet, in our case, and stretching this metaphor to the breaking point, the fudge ripples are toxic.

The lie is this, that our existence is human beings is separate from the Creator.

This is the LIE of the Evil One, which he so fully embraces that he is psychotic (A liar and the father of lies) and is so delusion-ally convinced that he can in some way stand apart from the Great I AM, El Elyon, God Most High, that he is still actually trying to pull off the rebellion successfully.

God is the foundation/source of the each and every energy packet/strings" that manifest as every subatomic particle of every atom of every molecule of every part of every object and living creature. And even though it is of His Spirit that each person is alive with a "demarcated portion" of His Spirit, that if He were to remove His Spirit all fresh would turn to dust, we can still nurture the illusion that we exist apart from Him.

And even for those of us who have received the revelation of Jesus in our spirit (God saying let there be light out of the darkness) and in whom the Spirit of Jesus is present, we still default to the lie that we are separate from Him in day by day living.

But what do the scriptures say?  We who are the Lord's are one spirit with Him (I Cor 6:17).

We have been crucified with Christ.  We no longer live but Christ lives in us.  Now, we still exist, but no longer as mere men and women, but One with Christ Beings.

The truth is that as I am typing this email/article, Jesus Himself is looking out of my eyes and is experiencing the typing activity as me.

I have gotten to the point that I cannot function for the majority of my day by day living without this truth.  If I try and handle things as an illusionary independent-of-God self, and especially as I interact with other people at my job, and if try to do so with the lie that I am separate from Jesus, then at best all I am capable of "trying to be like Jesus" is to bite my tongue as a critical mind takes over.  From my critical thinking, I get increasingly self-centered and judge others while anger and resentment amp up.

This past week it is like God has allowed by strength to get so drained in order that I hit the brick wall of stubborn lie-clinging as a catalyst to rest in what has been true of me and Christ all along.  It is like He is saying, "Rest in Me."

I do not think I am explaining things well and so I want to illustrate what I am trying to express with a true story.

Decades ago I was a staff member at a homeless shelter, working the busy evening shift at the time.  Things were not going well that night and a lot of the local folks were getting pretty restless.  I decided to get some space from the chaos and help wash dishes in the main kitchen. Other staff were also feeling the stress and pressure and none of us were manifesting the fruit of the Spirit by any means.

Then into the kitchen walks Ronnie.  Ronnie was hanging out with the staff for a couple days.  He was a son of a couple who regularly supported the ministry.

Ronnie was a very special person.  He was a young man of about 18 and genuinely loved Jesus.  He also had Down's Syndrome.  He was a simple dude.

He came into the kitchen and sensing the tension, started to walk around giving pats on the back and little neck rubs.  While doing this he kept saying, in his very young voice, "Relax, Jesus is in you.  Relax, Jesus is in you."

I still get a little choked up thinking about it now, years later.  Ronnie could not have explained the details of how it was that Jesus was one with Ronnie's spirit.  Ronnie could not have discussed how Jesus was free to live in us because of the new covenant established in the shedding of His blood. Ronnie could not have teased out the difference between walking after the flesh of illusionary independence from God versus living in the Spirit reality of total union with God Himself.

Ronnie just knew as a child knows.  That Jesus and him were together. That Jesus was peace no matter what was happening.

So, as we wait for Jesus to return, whether it comes tomorrow at a possibly true Pentecost, or next year, or on a day that is a bit of a surprise because all of the calendars are so totally screwed up, just keep this truth in mind . . .

Jesus is in you, relax.  Jesus is in you, relax.
