The Liberation of Jerusalem 1967 --- June 7th is the anniversary of the most important Bible event that was prophesied in ancient times to occur in modern times. On that date in 1967, during the Six-Day War, brave paratroopers from the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) 55th Paratroopers Brigade liberated the Temple Mount and Old City Jerusalem from Jordanian forces, placing the ancient site of Solomon’s Temple and the Old City of Jerusalem under the control of the Jewish people for the first time in more than 2,000 years. That liberation was a major prophetic fulfillment of the chrono-specific prophecy in Daniel 8:13-14. “Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days [or as it appears in the Masoretic tect בקר ערב, ‘erev boqer – evening-mornings)]; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed” … (Daniel 8:13-14 KJV). No Bible scholars recognized the importance of the liberation as a biblical event when it happened. Even today, many expositors continue to ignore its prophetic and eschatological significance. However, as I explain in Chapter One of my book, Daniel Unsealed, the return of the Temple Mount and Old City Jerusalem to the Jews on June 7, 1967, was the event that signaled that God had unsealed the Book of Daniel for this generation, and it provided the key for undertsanding all of the chrono-specific prophecies in Daniel.
