"RE: Pastor Bob: 06.15.14: Dispensationalism -1"

Pastor Bob,

That was an excellent start to what looks to be a great study!

When I lived on the island, most of the problems or divisions between those professing faith in Jesus,

whether between churches, or between members within a church,

seemed to come down to an understanding, or a misunderstanding, of these dispensational truths.

Some said we all had to keep the diet spelled out in the book of Leviticus.

While there were others that said that we all had to keep the diet spelled out in Genesis, before the flood.

Some wanted to make all the churches there into Galatian churches, to go back under the Law.

Some hotly sided with the UN & Palestinians, and did not believe that Israel had any business in the land any more.

Some were terrified that any day now, they may end up with the mark, and go to hell for sure.

Some thought that churches should be experiencing kingdom dominion now.

Some thought that the churches needed to establish the kingdom, world-wide, before Jesus could come back.

Some thought that Abraham, Noah, and Adam were all subject to the Mosaic Covenant, but that it was only passed on “orally” to them.

Some greatly misunderstood the transition of the book of Acts, as things moved into the Dispensation of Grace, resulting in much confusion.

Here in what’s called the Permian Basin of West Texas, the differences seem to be very similar.

However, there seems to be little, if any, understanding of dispensational truths, in general.

Yet, there doesn’t seem to be as many problems or divisions over it, as there was on the island.

It is as if it doesn’t really matter as much here, one way or the other.

Though I would attribute it less to tolerance and perhaps more to ignorance or apathy.

Also, before I went to the island, I lived near O’Hare Airport (Chicago).

In that area, and during that time, there seemed to be a very high % of folks who understood & believed dispensational truths.

I look forward to the remaining parts of the study.

                        Thank you,

                                    Gino
