Daniel 7:5 

And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. 

3 ribs in the mouth of it-

RIB  (tsela`, tsal`ah; Aramaic `ala`): The Hebrew words designate the "side," "flank," thence the "ribs."

The bear the Prophet Daniel sees is Russia and it's devouring other beasts/Nations as it has 3 ribs in its mouth.

These 3 ribs are Nations that are on the side/flank of Russia and devour means war.

And here is a simplistic reason, not the only answer for sure, as to why the Prophet Daniel was shown that Russia devours 3 Nations-

The divisions of eastern Europe aggravate those of the EU as a whole. And if the countries closest (flank, side) to Russia, with direct experience of Soviet occupation, cannot agree on sanctions, why should Nations who aren't threatened by Russia endanger their still-fragile economies for more sanctions or war?
Just as I mentioned before, Putin is facing capital flight with both ruble and micex volatility.

He isn't 'almighty,' he has major vulnerabilities, but he does get to use Isaiah 17, Israel's launch against Damascus, to promote his propaganda (lies) via anti-Semitism and to conquer 3 Nations that flank Russia. 

It will be a conundrum that the Jewish State faces with Nation after Nation, because God declared the end from the beginning-

Genesis 27:40  And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother: and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.

Russian 53T6 (NATO reporting name: ABM-3 Gazelle, previously SH-08) is a Russian anti-ballistic missile. Designed in the early 1980s and in service since 1995, it is a component of the A-135 anti-ballistic missile system.

Russia is sending multiple rocket launchers, T-64 tanks, and heavy military weapons, to pro-Moscow rebels in Ukraine. NATO Chief Rasmussen warned it marks a "serious escalation."

Kiev also fears a high-stakes "gas war" with Russia.

International security expert Igor Sutyagin sees Putin as having ensnared himself in a trap of his own making-

Putin may have lost control of the rebels and "Putin has trapped himself because he raised public expectations to a very high level. It's time to provide Russians with a new victory; it's been two months since Crimea," Sutyagin said. It's possible, he said, that Putin will seize more territory.

He could maintain low-grade support for the rebels for another month or two, while waiting for an opportunity to maneuver out of his predicament.

The use of anti-Semitic reports/attacks in Ukraine are beneficial for the Kremlin's propaganda campaign, as Putin lets the ruble float for now.

Russia cuts off Natural Gas supplies to Ukraine

Putin uses Isaiah 17, 'the Burden of Damascus,' to inflict all-out war/civil unrest under the guise of protecting Russian speaking nationalists, not just in Ukraine because the Prophet Daniel sees 3 Ribs in the Bear's teeth, ch.7:5.

And I've always said that Daniel 9:27, 'And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week,'  or one set of seven, ie 7 years- was indeed the Union for the Mediterranean

European Union energy ministers are scrambling to find alternative energy sources in case Russia actually does turn off the gas via Ukraine.  Enter Israel.

Israel's spectacular offshore gas finds at Tamar and the much larger Leviathan field now pose a threat to Putin's energy dominance with Europe.

The energy demands of 8 million Israelis are tiny compared to the estimated reserves of around 1 trillion cubic meters discovered in the Mediterranean. So the bulk of future Leviathan development is free to go abroad, most likely in the form of liquefied natural gas or LNG, which can be shipped anywhere, and in any quantity. Estimates suggest the vast reserves of natural gas trapped underwater in the regions between Cyprus and Israel could meet Europe's demands for 7 years. 

No peace agreement, those blood moons signal war for the Jewish State
