This past Sunday, June 1st, the Temple Institute, in cooperation with other Temple organizations, presented a Shavuot Symposium, featuring a reenactment of the special festival Twin Loaves and First Fruit Offerings. This reenactment was conducted by kohanim, (priests of the lineage of Aharon), students of the Temple Institute's recently opened school for kohanim.

The reenactment involved the preparation and baking of the twin loaves in accordance to the manner in which it was done in the Holy Temple.

The baked loaves were then taken by the kohanim and waved before a model altar, along with lambs, which also constitute part of the twin loaves offering.

In addition o the twin loaves reenactment, the kohanim also performed a reenactment of the bringing of the bikurim - first-fruits - in the traditional tene - a basket woven from wicket.

Many people, including children attended the reenactment,
which took place on the Mount of Olives lover looking the Temple Mount.

The twin loaves and first-fruit offerings can (and should) be offered in our day. The offerings need not wait for the building of the Holy Temple. What is required is an altar located on its precise location on the Temple Mount. Even a temporary altar would suffice for the purpose of these two offerings. Therefore it is imperative that kohanim learn the halalchot and precise details of preparing and performing these offerings in anticipation of the renewal of these offerings on the Temple Mount.

Comment Ronnie Spradley: Happening before our eyes. "When you see these things begin to come to pass, look up for your redemption draws near". In our day.

Mat 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Revelation 11

1 And there was given me a reed like to a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given to the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
