United States - Immorality or Immor(t)ality?!

The CROSS (t) is the Difference!!!!

While perusing the Running from Babylon (blogspot) website (see link below), I came across a very interesting article highlighting that Billy Graham is warning, quite rightly, that growing immorality is a sign that the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is near.  Amen!!  However, there was a FORTUNATE typo in the article (second link is to article).  The article referred to America being drenched in a ‘sea of ímmor(t)ality’, when it should have read drenched in a sea of immorality!!  What a difference the cross makes!

Excerpt from article:  Rev. Billy Graham is warning that the second coming of Christ is “near due to America being drenched in a “sea of immor(t)ality.”  Graham told reporters that President. Obama’s motto of “hope and change” was a cliché adopted to seize power and destroy civil and religious liberties in America.

Graham emphasized the danger in “the government knowing our every move that [it] could lead to losing our freedom to worship God publicly.”  As for the legacy of America? “I believe all of these signs…[point] towards the return of the Lord,” Graham declared.

It is not necessary to highlight the growing immorality in the United States, and the same could be said for Australia.  The ever widening support for same sex marriage is just one symptom of a broadening evil.  It is also clear that the Church of Jesus Christ is struggling to hold back the wall of evil.  When almost three quarters of the Presbyterian Church expresses support for same sex marriage, then this is no wonder.

Almost every day we hear of further steps down the broad way that leads to destruction.  Growing judgments on nations, including the United States and Australia, can be expected, remembering that judgment starts in the House of God:  1 Peter 4: 17-18 (KJV):

17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?  18 If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

I should emphasise that I believe that an outpouring of the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Holiness) on all flesh will drench the world, including the United States and, at least for a time, there will be repentance and a shift to righteousness.  However, immorality is so embedded in the soul of the nation that the Bride of Christ, the remnant Church, will be persecuted by the global religion - until He comes for His Bride (the overcoming Church in Revelation) in the Rapture!!!

For now, as Billy Graham states, immorality is a sign that the Return of the Lord is very near!  The United States may find its way back to a new foundation, with the Bible as the focal point of the home, but the coming judgments may mean that it will lose its pre-eminence among the nations.

Putting on Immortality  (1 Corinthians 15: 52-53 Amplified)

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable,  and we shall be changed (transformed).  53 For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal must put on immortality..

What a wonderful promise!  Yet so many, including within the body of Christ, are deceived into acceptance of immorality.  As for nations, each of us face this choice: immortality through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Righteousness, or immorality!

Shunning Immorality  (1 Corinthians 6: 17-19)

17 But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.  18 Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed]. Any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.  19 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you.

Warnings from the Lips of Jesus  (Matthew 5:18-19 KJV)

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.  19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:  but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus clearly warned about teaching that it is acceptable to break the laws of God.  However, His strongest warning is for those who cause His ‘little ones’ to stumble into sin (Matthew 18: 5-7 Amplified)  How long can He allow growing immorality to be paraded in the eyes of His children?  Not long!!  His Return is near.

Whoever receives one little child like this for My sake, receives and welcomes Me.  6 Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble and sin, it would be better him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be sunk in the depth of the sea.  Woe to the world for such temptations to sin and influences to do wrong!  It is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the person on whose account or by whom the temptation comes!

Put simply, our Righteous Saviour Who watches over and protects His little ones is preparing to Come!  He is at the Door!

Waiting for the Rapture and immortality!  Trusting Him to keep me from immorality while we wait expectantly!  Perhaps our nations will find their way back to the Cross!
