Bill,
I have to be honest, that I’ve never before heard that explanation of the shortening of the days.
You may have addressed it, and I may have missed it, by why say that he is shortening those days?
It’s not like the LORD originally ordained a certain number of days,
and then later realized that no flesh should be saved, requiring a “recalculation”, in order to save the elect.
He already knew, from the foundation of the world, what would be the correct number of days, for everything to work out.
So why not only say that many days, right off?
Why say that he is shortening the days? Is it simply a FYI?
Or is he hinting that if his elect in those days pray for it, he’ll shorten those days in response to their prayers?
Thank you,
Gino
