"RE: Clay Cantrell: 06.11.13"

Clay,

             You had written:

This was the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, in volumes, left to right.

It was very beautiful, but more than that - it "breathed" - that's the best that I can describe it. It had the life of God in it.

That is so fantastic! Would it be alright with you, if I use what you wrote, when I’m teaching or preaching?

Your thought knocked me over.

What you described is a zillion times more exciting than simply saying “breathed”!

Thinking about it, when the scriptures speak of themselves, it is called the “word of God”, with a small “w”.

Seven times, however, when speaking of the Son of God, it says, “Word of God”, with a large “W”.

Jesus is the express image of the Father, with all the fulness of the Godhead bodily (Heb 1:3 & Col 2:9)

As such, for the Word of God, the Incarnation is the life of God in human flesh.

For the word of God, it is the life of God in a book.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The book also is alive. The book also discerns the thoughts and intents of our heart.

This is all because of what you wrote, “It had the life of God in it”!
