"Alignments of a
different kind"
Readers -
Since I am a chronic pain sufferer like others that visit this
site, sometimes I just have to lie down for a while, which
sometimes helps and sometimes doesn't. During a particularly
painful period of the last two days, I rested and picked up my
smartphone. A person in chronic pain is always distracting
themselves to focus on something else.
In an attempt to get some beauty of God into my soul this
morning, I surfed the Internet for "natural flower photography",
and came up with some gorgeous photos to look at.
After doing so for awhile, I went to the Joni Eareckson Tada
devotional site which I do most days, as part of my devotional
time. I cannot count how many times, the material or scripture
for the day that writes "aligns" with something I read in
the Bible that day or something that was rolling around in my
spirit that day. it's uncanny.
Today, before I checked her, I said out loud up myself, "I
wonder if her devotional today has anything to do with flowers."
This is her scripture today, that she wrote her devotional based
on:
Song of Solomon 2:1
"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
Her entire blog post today is about Roses. She likens God
unfurling our lives and His beauty to be found there, to His
opening the petals of a rose.
You might check her devotionals out for yourself, and the flower
photo link. Those flowers are overwhelmingly beautiful -
the beauty only God can create.
