Why because they worship according to doctrines of men handed down by their fathers through tradition instead of use the grace given Holy Spirit to study find and abide in the truth.

If you have the Holy Spirit you have an unction for the truth but you must use it. The seeds that bore fruit were brands not cast into the fire. Those that bore fruit were those that abide in Jesus words to do them.

James said faith that saves is faith that works. But it's not the works based salvation those reject.
