The Israelites left Egypt on Nissan 15 - see below

Exodus 12

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Passover Instituted

12 Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire—its head with its legs and its entrails. 10 You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. 11 And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover. - 15th day, Nissan 15

Exodus 19

New King James Version (NKJV)

Israel at Mount Sinai

19:1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.  Sivan 15

Hi:

The Israelites didnt arrive at Mount Sinai until Sivan 15, (this year June 5) do we believe the Bible or the calenders of man.

I believe the Bible, and the Biblical calendar. Where does it say that the Israelites arrived on Sivan 15?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shavuot
Jub. 1:1 claims that Moses ascended Mount Sinai to receive the Torah "on the sixteenth day of the third month in the first year of the Exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt". However, the Book of Jubilees is not scripture, so we should not build a doctrine around it.

BEGINNING OF MONTHS, NISAN 1, NEW MOON

It is my understanding that in the Bible, when the day of the month is not given, it  means the first day of the month, because the same word, chodesh, means new moon and month. I learned that from Dr. Charles L. Feinberg, who was dean of Talbot Theological Seminary at BIOLA College, La Mirada, CA, when I lived in La Mirada.

Ex 12:2 says, “This month (H2320 chodesh, NEW MOON, i.e.,Nisan or Abib, day 1) shall be unto you the BEGINNING OF MONTHS (chodesh): it shall be the first month (chodesh) of the year to you.”

Strong’s H2320 chodesh From H2318; the NEW MOON; by implication a month: - month (-ly), NEW MOON.

Ex 19:1 says, “In the third month (H2320, chodesh, month, new moon, i.e., Sivan 1), when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day (i.e., Sivan 1) came they into the wilderness of Sinai.”

PENTECOST, TWO WAYS OF FIGURING IT

Lev 23:9-11 says, “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 10  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11  And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow (Sunday) after the sabbath (Saturday, as in 30 AD, or on the day after the Feast of Unleavened Bread, an annual Sabbath, i.e., on the Feast of Firstfruits, Omer 1) the priest shall wave it.”

FIRSTFRUITS IS OMER ONE OF FIFTY, THE COUNTDOWN TO PENTECOST, SIVAN 6

Continuing, Lev 23:12-17 says, “And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD. 13  And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin. 14  And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 15  And ye shall COUNT UNTO YOU FROM THE MORROW (SUNDAY) AFTER THE SABBATH (SATURDAY), from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering (i.e., on Firstfruits, fulfilled on Resurrection Day, Sunday, April 9, 30 AD;  April 9 also seems to be the date of the Second Advent, Nisan 1, 5776, April 9, 2016); seven sabbaths (or weeks) shall be complete: 16  Even UNTO THE MORROW AFTER THE SEVENTH SABBATH (Saturday) shall ye number FIFTY DAYS; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. 17  Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; THEY ARE THE FIRSTFRUITS unto the LORD.”

2Sa_21:9 says, “the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.”

Jas_1:18  says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” Thus, the First-Trump Rapture could take place during barley harvest. That starts on the Feast of Firstfruits.

Rth_1:22 says, “So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.”

Rth_2:23 says, “So she (Ruth) kept fast by the maidens of Boaz TO GLEAN UNTO THE END OF BARLEY HARVEST AND OF WHEAT HARVEST”. Ruth lay at the feet of Boaz on the night after he had been winnowing barley. They were married soon after that.

Wheat harvest starts on Pentecost. It may end in May or on the Feast of Trumpets.

"Wheat ripens later than barley and, according to the Gezer Manual, was harvested during the sixth agricultural season, yrh qsr wkl (end of April to end of May)"

However, there is both winter wheat and spring wheat.

In the US:
Winter wheat is harvested from mid-May to mid-July.”
Spring wheat is harvested from mid-August to mid-September.”

Mat_13:25  says, “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Mat_13:30  says, “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”

This spring wheat harvest is probably the Feast of Trumpets.

Another view - If Pentacost is suppose to line up with the giving of the 10 commandments, which I believe it is - God is a God of total order and the correlation and fulfillment between the two is very important - then look at Exodus 19:1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai. 2 For they had departed from Rephidim, had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Israel camped there before the mountain.
The Israelites didnt arrive at Mount Sinai until Sivan 15, (this year June 5) do we believe the Bible or the calenders of man. I know a lot of people look to the Jewish Calander but when it doesnt line up with the Bible, we need to take the dates that God has given us in his word. So if the giving of the 10 commandments and Pentacost is the fulfillment of this time, then May 27 could in no way have been Pentacost. With this being the case, then when is Pentacost?????? Some say because of Passover there was no Sabbath kept and the next Saturday would have been the Sabbath, so it would be the count of 50 days from that Sunday, this would then bring us to June 3, which still would not line up.
So we end up with a dilema dont we.
The only option I see is the second 50 day with a warning of 40 day trial and testing period maybe from June 5 (first trump), ending on July 15 Pentacost (last trump), this lines up. I dont know how Eliane added up and got July 19, that would be interesting to know Eliane, if you can let us know.

Hi:

I think the correct day for Pentecost is May 27, 2012, not July 19, 2012.
I went to Creation Calendar.com and found that it refers to THE FENTON TRANSLATION, which I had never heard of in all my 52 years of studying the Bible and trying to find different translations.
Of the Fenton translation, Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrar_Fenton_Bible) says:

> > At least 10 editions of Fenton's translation were published in his own lifetime. He also continued to add extra notes to these editions up to 1910. An abridged version was published in 1935 under the title The Command of the Ever-Living .. – London : Covenant Publishing Co, and reprinted in 1951.

> > Although Ferrar Fenton's translation never achieved great popularity and fell into obscurity, it remains in print today, now published by the small Destiny Publishers of Merrimac, Massachusetts, from whence it is also available to download as a separate PDF file for each book of the Bible.

> > ...British Israelism

> > Ferrar Fenton was himself a British Israelite and he dedicated his translation to 'all those nations who have sprung from the race of the British Isles'. [8] An explanatory note in the abridged version The Command of the Ever-Living quotes a letter Fenton wrote in 1910 saying how he believed the Cymru (Welsh) language sprung from ancient Hebrew and that the British were descendants from Shem.[9]

> > Some modern branches of British Israelism lean heavily on the Ferrar Fenton translation to support their theories[10].”

Since Fenton was a British Israelite, and thinks that the British are descended from Shem, that’s probably why I haven’t heard of the Fenton translation. I disagree with the British Israelites.

Rev 3:9 says, “Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.”

Below is what I found when I went to http://creationcalendar.com/CalendarIssue/17-FeastOfWeeks.pdf

> > Look at what Strong’s says about H-5704 “whether of space (even unto) or time (during, while,
until)”. Leviticus 23:16 is about time, not space, so we’ve been applying the word in the wrong
manner all along. The Hebrew actually could be translated: WHILE FROM the morrow (after
the) seventh Sabbath (shall ye) number fifty days (and ye shall) offer a new meat offering (unto)
YHVH.
> > The Fenton Translation is the ONLY translation that seems to be honest with this evidence:
You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath that you bring the Wave-
Sheaf, seven Sabbaths. They must be complete.
Then after the seventh Sabbath, you shall count fifty days, when you shall present a new offering
to the Ever-Living. Leviticus 23:15-16 (emphasis mine)
MY REACTION
I will take what the KJV says over what Fenton’s Translation says. I went online and checked other English translations. They agree with the KJV. The morrow after the seventh sabbath is the 50th day, Sunday, Pentecost. Pente means 50, not 100.
“UNTO THE MORROW AFTER THE SEVENTH SABBATH SHALL YE NUMBER FIFTY DAYS”
Lev 23:15-17 (KJV) says, “And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even UNTO THE MORROW after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. 17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.”
“IN ALL, FIFTY DAYS”
Lev 23:15,16 (Wycliffe) says, “Therefore ye shall number from the tother day of the sabbath, in which ye offered handfuls of the first fruits, seven full weeks, (And so ye shall count seven full weeks from the day after the sabbath, that is, after the Passover, in which ye offered the sheaves as a special gift,) 16 till to the tother day of (the) filling of the seventh week, that is (in all), fifty days; and so ye shall offer [a] new sacrifice to the Lord, (until the day after the filling of the seventh week, that is in all , fifty days; and then ye shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord,)” 17 You shall bring in from your dwelling places two loaves of bread for a wave offering, made of two-tenths of an [a]ephah; they shall be of a fine flour, baked with leaven as first fruits to the Lord.
“COUNT FIFTY DAYS TO THE DAY AFTER THE SEVENTH SABBATH”
“lEV 23:15-17 (NASB) says “You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete sabbaths. 16 You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to the Lord. 17 You shall bring in from your dwelling places two loaves of bread for a wave offering, made of two-tenths of an [a]ephah; they shall be of a fine flour, baked with leaven as first fruits to the Lord.”

Dear Eliane, Yes, I now remember reading this piece of evidence before and yes, it does add up. Although disappointed for the wait, July 19th is just fine as long as it is this year. Thank you for re-posting the evidence:

You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath that you bring the Wave-Sheaf, seven Sabbaths. They must be complete. Then after the seventh Sabbath, you shall count fifty days, when you shall present a new offering to the Ever-Living. Leviticus 23:15-16

Dear Doves,

Below is a text explaining why the correct Shavuot / Pentecost is on the 29th day of the 4th Hebrew month (“Tammuz”).

http://creationcalendar.com/CalendarIssue/17-FeastOfWeeks.pdf

I know many don’t agree with this view and I totally respect that others have a different understanding.

This year (2012), 29th of the 4th Hebrew month falls on July 19th.

Sources:

http://www.creationcalendar.com/

http://www.lunarsabbath.info/

I’ve already written about this subject in past years and I know that many don’t subscribe to this view (which is fine). It’s not my intention to start any thread and I really don’t feel in the mood to debate this anymore. I just want to share this study, be ready and watch (every year, because we don’t know the year) the date I believe is the correct Pentecost and not to be disappointed at all if next Sunday comes and goes with no important prophetic event.

As a matter of fact we should ALL be ready every day and do our best to share the Gospel with the unsaved while there is still time. Spreading the Gospel, loving one another as Christ loved the Church and preparing ourselves with holiness for the blessed hope is the most important thing we can do now.

Whenever Pentecost is….

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all!

Eliane B.
