Hi DavidYou commented for someone to show you a commandment we cannot keep. I do not think we can keep any of the commandments, but I will not get into that. Eventually as we continue to live our lives out we are going to stumble and fall. If you think following the law and commandments is a part of salvation you will not make it.But just for illustration purposes let us take the commandment about the Sabbath. Most christians "attend" church on Sunday. The Sabbath is Saturday. They attend church and think by doing so they are "keeping" that commandment. The Seventh Day Adventist think they have it right because they worship on Saturday. But there is more to keeping the Sabbath than attending a church meeting. You are not suppose to do anything on the Sabbath. So if you eat out, drive your car, turn on your lights, etc etc etc. I think you get the point. Then you have Christ saying if you look at a woman and lust you are committing adultrey.Oh and if you get angry with a brother you are like a murderer. And how many of us at one time or another wanted(coveted) something our neighbor has.According to the Bible the law was a scoolmaster to bring us to Christ.Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.Galatians 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. You see in the Sermon on the mount Jesus was trying to show the people they are sinners and need a Saviour. But if you still think you can keep the commandments then you MUST do what Jesus told the rich young ruler to do.Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.Yes no-one can keep the commandments and if they think they can they must go back 2000 years and go hang on the cross as our glorious Saviour did. You see it is impossible for a person to keep the law.The disciples questioned Jesus;Mark 10:26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.thanksMike W
