Hello, John and Doves,
 
Linda Arn, hang in there!  We are all rooting for you!

You took this verse to heart, whether you realized it at the time, or not.  Also, you claimed this verse on behalf of your husband, who is beset by a drug habit (and other sins).  You have performed admirably as a wife.  The ancient meaning of the Hebrew word for woman is one who sees the axeman.
The meaning for man, of course, would be one who fights against the axeman.  How can a drug-addicted man do that?  So, then, you are looking out for your whole family--which is your biblical mandate.  We therefore pray that the hand of the LORD will be on your family, to heal it and make it whole [whether perfect and whole again, or even for the first time ever].

By keeping our minds on what pleases HaShem (literally, the Name--meaning YHVH), we open ourselves fully to the blessings of God.

"Desperately need prayer!"

 
Hi Doves, I really need prayer right now like never before. I kicked my husband of 18 years out of our home last October because his behavior was such that I felt threatened by him. He was also very threatening to our 85 year old landlady. I believe that drugs were a cause but am not sure. He has been addicted to prescription drugs for many years. He moved to LA where he is from but he is not doing well there.  He has no family and only a handful of friends none of whom are in a position to help him. He called several weeks ago crying. He had been sick in the hospital and he is living in a garage with no heat or air. He wants to come home. I cannot at this time have him back in my house. The landlady will not allow him back and I can’t afford to move as I have lived there for 15 years and rent is very reasonable. So he agreed to go into U Turn for Christ to get clean of the drugs. I work full time but am past retirement age so I am using my social security check to pay for this program. If he walks out of the program or gets kicked out I will lose $1200. It is a sacrifice for me to pay for this program but I clearly felt the Lord leading me to help him. After all, I am the only one who can right now.  My prayer is that my husband will use this opportunity to find his way back to God and that he will be successful in the program. But I am scared to death. I don’t trust him. If he fails this program he will out of necessity be on the streets. I have no more money to help him for at least two months.  I would appreciate all the prayer help I can get.  God bless you all. I’ll be so grateful when Jesus comes to get us!!!
