Hi Gino,
I've been working on a letter, regarding Daniel 9:27, that I will have to send at some later date. In it, I use the scriptures to show why I believe that the AC confirms the covenant, stops the daily sacrifices and sets up the abomination of desolation. I don't know how long it will take me to finish it, but I hope that you will watch for it and read it.
As for now, I'd like to say a couple of things about this.
In Matthew 24:15, Jesus himself warns the Jewish people about the abomination spoken of by the prophet Daniel.
The abomination is an idol. Jesus didn't (and wouldn't) set up an idol nor would he commit an abomination.
The covenant is clearly a Jewish one, since the angel, Gabriel, tells Daniel that the prophecy concerns what will befall the Jewish people in the latter days.
Why would Jesus confirm a covenant and then make it desolate? The covenant that Jesus made was to die on the cross and save people from their sins.
As to the promises the "little prince" made to the American people, this was not a covenant with the Jews.
Daniel 9 shows that the antichrist comes from the Roman Empire.
Daniel 11 shows that the antichrist can be compared to Antiochus Epiphanes, in his actions.
Both Daniel 11 and 12, show that the prophecy is fulfilled in the end times.
2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
There must be some type of Jewish temple in order for the antichrist to sit in the temple of God.

Below is an article that was mentioned in the article posted by KS Rajan, that shows how quickly a temple could be erected.
