"about alcohol"
Jesus said in Matthew 15:9-11
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the
commandments of men....Hear, and understand:
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that
which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
(Notice he says "teaching for doctrines the commandments of men"
- I interpret this as basically saying that people have
ideas/agendas which they tend to teach as doctrine. Don't fall
prey to man's rules. Blind leaders of the blind.
Prohibition is man's commandment - not God's. Herbs are
for the service of man. Wine is for the sorrowful as well
as for wedding celebrations).
Jesus said in Matthew 15:17-18
Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the
mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the
draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth
come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
(It's not what you put in your mouth that defiles, it's what
comes out of your mouth that defiles. The Bible warns us, though
- who has woe, who has sorrow- he who lingers long at the
wine. Also, strong drink is not for princes.)
