Thank you Jana for your post. It is exactly what I
had posted as well, being married to a Jewish man, and living in
Israel myself.
Everything you said is absolutely true. And yes, drunkenness is
forbidden by Jews as well as believers, and Jews drink very
little.
I also said the wine at Cana was real wine, by implication of
the story in its context and should not be re-interpreted to fit
modern Christian traditions.
All wine was real wine, and alcoholic. Grape juice was just
grape juice.
Jesus was a Jew and we understand Him from His own cultural
point of view.
