"Titanic Once Again...
Our redemption surely draws near."
Please pray up, pack up, and heads up. We are going home.

Dear Doves:
When I was a small child, I remember being very fascinated with
the sinking of Titanic. All my life I thought about it off
and on. Now I know why. I believe that it was a
picture of America at its end, as well. The disastrous
sinking did several things worthy of note:
1. God used it, I think, to round up most of the greedy and
arrogant money men of the Edwardian Era (John Jacob Astor, Levi
Strauss, H. H. Guggenheim, etc) into an ark and send them to the
bottom of the ocean along with their greedy empires. As a
result, the wives who survived, for the most part, inherited the
money and used it in an entirely different manner than their
husbands would have. They supported libraries, hospitals,
colleges, and such. Many worthy institutions benefited from
the redistribution of the wealth of these powerful men. It
slowed down Satan’s plan to implement his new world order as well.
2. It killed the Edwardian Era. It was a cruel class
system that needed to end.
I believe that God judged it and He is the One who ended it.
It also put brakes on what was going on in America, economically
also. New York City was in shock over such a tragedy as
this. It was evidently engraved into men’s minds by God as a
warning for them to not repeat what England had done. After
all, 306 American citizens were on board Titanic, many of which
were wealthy. Most of these died. The United States
Senate immediately investigated this tragedy because of its import
the American economy.
3. God had forewarned some folks about the disaster as far
as 14 years in advance. A book almost perfectly describing
the disaster was authored way before it happened. The
author, Morgan Robertson, even named the ship “Titan” in the book
“Futility, The Wreck of the Titan”. God must surely have
inspired this man to write the book as it almost completely
paralleled the disaster of Titanic.
4. Most people don’t know that the Titanic was at first to
be named “Gigantic”, but this was later changed as being to
“harsh” for such an opulent ship. A nurse employed by
wealthy travelers to look after their infant refused to accompany
them because she had had a vision of the sinking. She
desperately tried to talk them into staying in England, but, of
course, they would not hear her. (She lost her job, but
saved her own life, as it turned out).
5. The general English and U. S. populations were under the
impression that the Titanic was “practically unsinkable”.
Both the architect and captain said that they thought it
was. J. Bruce Ismay, C. E. O of White Star Lines, the owner
of RMS Titanic said at a cocktail party that “after all, you are
aboard the unsinkable Titanic”. The Titanic’s third officer
James Lightoller was cautioned by traveling companions when he was
enroute to board the ship, “not to disparage the ‘unsinkable’
Titanic. She is, after all, representative of England’s
finest hour”. The ship was considered unsinkable
only because of her 16 watertight compartments.
The problem was later discovered that it would sink because the
watertight walls only extended upward to E deck and thus did not
go all the way up to the top deck and, if a hole were made in the
bottom of the ship, the doors would be useless.
6. The total passenger and crew count was 2,201 souls.
There were not enough lifeboats, however, it was discovered that
the boats had 1,176 seats, and had the men been men, there were
enough seats in the lifeboats for every woman and child aboard
plus 1 crewman per boat. Some of the infants could be
carried in the mother’s arms. Therefore, God did not judge
the women. He judged the arrogance of the men.
Titanic’s third officer, Lightoller, testified that many boats
were launched without full complement. Discoveries later
showed that the seamen aboard the ship believed that Titanic would
stay afloat at least 3 to 4 hours longer than it did. That
is why they did not panic and behaved in heroic fashion.
What they did not know, however, is that the iceberg that sank the
ship not only opened the side of the great ship, but also opened a
slit in a 70 ft section of the bottom, right along the keel
line. This let water into the mid ship area as well as the
forward part. The ship was thus doomed to sink much faster
than it would have with only a side swipe event.
7. The steamer California lay only ten miles away and could
see Titanic. The Captain and crew ignored all flares,
signals, and sounds. The wireless was turned off and the
operator was asleep when the Titanic was going down. They
said that they just could not believe that the Titanic would
sink…it was after all, unsinkable. Also, they thought that
the emergency flares were only the passengers and crew having a
grand party.
8. The steamer Carpathia was too far away, by 2 hours
sailing time, to reach Titanic in time to rescue the passengers
and crew. By the time Carpathia arrived, all that could be
seen were lifeboats floating in the open ocean and many, many
frozen corpses. (God was merciful in their deaths, inasmuch
as freezing is a rather painless way to go. However, the
initial judgment felt like being stuck with 1,000 knives, until
the extremely cold water numbed the body).
9. RMS Titanic was designed along the same lines and was
about the same size as was Noah’s ark. The ark dimensions
have been used as the model for every great ship since. The
ark was perfectly balanced and able to navigate deep waters and
turbulent tides. Water displacement is the secret to a ship
floating. It must displace enough water, and when it does,
even iron and steel will float.
10. Now, note if you will, that the sinking of Titanic
occurred April 15, 1912. But, she set sail from Queenstown,
Ireland, just 3 days earlier on April 12, 1912. Exactly 100
years to the day later, April 12, 2012 was the middle point of the
70th week of Daniel’s prophecy. And exactly 3 days later
back in 1912, Titanic lay on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, and
1,514 souls had gone out into eternity. And, exactly 3 days
later in 2012 there remained only 1,332 days until the end.
That is 2 x 666.
11. The crucial point of God’s end times program, that is
the last 1,335 days, began on the 100th anniversary of the sailing
of this great ship. It was also, I believe, a picture of the
decline and destruction of the United States of America, which is
now a close resemblance to the Edwardian Society in its greed and
vile conduct. In my imagination, I can see America the
beautiful, just like Titanic the beautiful hitting the iceberg of
God’s judgment. When? Exactly 100 years to the day
later, April 12, 2012.
As I said, I have been extremely fascinated by this ship. I
am sure God put the feeling there so that today, I can easily see
the analogy of Titanic to America. However, in the broader
sense, I think it may apply to the whole world, as God sinks this
entire mess. In the prophecy of Daniel, there is a vision of
the Lion (England) with eagle’s wings (The U. S.). Daniel
beheld until the wings thereof were PLUCKED. I think this
may refer to the demise of the United States prior to the final
judgment of England.
May the Lord continue to bless you for His glory. Keep on
looking up, for our redemption surely draws nigh. Not long
to go.
