"Rapture Theory Review"

Dear John and All Doves,

I am sure someone has a list of all of the competing theories that we have “in play” at the present moment here on 5 Doves. I would really like to see one so I can understand all the different views that exist at the moment.

I must confess that I have been focused on Ron Reese’s and Mathman’s line of reasoning for some time but it seems to have played out. I love the “story in the sky” and I do think it may play a role going forward but I think we need to go back to the scriptures and recalc the math. I am not saying it’s over, but with each passing day the math logic no longer holds the theory together, which I believe both Mathman and Ron have acknowledged themselves.

So, as some famous actor once said in answer to the question: “What is your favorite movie?” He retorted: “The next one.”

And so it is with me. Once the facts prove a line of reasoning false I need to move on to one that is rooted in scripture and tied to observed facts.

God gave us all brains and the heart of desire to be obedient to him to watch for his coming. So, let’s go Doves, let’s list the still possible theories out and start the study and debate in earnest. We all win by doing this in a respectful and loving manner.

Also, Ron and Mathman, I am so grateful for you work. You have both brought to me so much insight into how the scriptures can be read and tested. Your work is not over: Progressive revelation is extremely valid in our quest for being ready when He is ready to come get us. That’s the bottom line, right? Being ready and having reason for being ready is all we all need to keep us focused.

As a Catholic, I see wisdom in the “a millennial” view which says: “Christ will come when He comes. Let’s us focus on what we can do now in being what He wants us to be.” However, I think this may doom many Catholic into the tribulation. It may very well be that the Catholic Church today is in the same position as Judaism was when Christ came. So, in my view, faithful Catholics need to be watchful for His return just as faithful Jews searched the heavens for signs of Christ first appearance.

And so, I have a quest: a quest to remain watching until Christ comes and in the mean time to do what I can now to be what He wants me to be.

May God Bless each and every one who shares their views here or just studies here; like me. This is where the true Church lives in my view.

YBIC,
