"Isaiah 66:13"

Hello, John and Doves,

One of the Shabbat readings for Chukat [2 July 2011/30 Sivan 5771] is Isaiah 66:1-24.

In reading this passage, we come upon many wonderful verses, not the least of which is the following:

"I will comfort you there in Jerusalem as a Mother comforts her child."  Isaiah 66:13

As many of you know from your inductive Bible studies, the 66 chapters of Isaiah map onto the 66 books of the Bible.
Thus, Isaiah 66 maps onto Revelation.  Since Revelation has to do with Messiah's Second Coming, this is probably why Jesus made only an oblique reference to this verse in Matt 23:37 and Luke 13:34.

Nevertheless, having observed that there is an undeniable remez at play, we would be wise to look at clues from Isaiah 65 [Jude--age of apostasy] and Isaiah 66 [Revelation--70th week of Daniel].

Baruch HaShem Adonai,
Mike C.
