Following is a brief outline of what John has written:

 

The words of Jesus, “Behold, I come quickly” are given in the context of the Rapture—the removal of His bride before God’s judgment falls—there is a real sense of urgency.  The target audience is the seven churches; but, it is especially directed to the Church of Philadelphia, the church which heeds the warnings.

 

I behooves every end-time watcher to study these warnings closely, for very much is at stake.  Only the Church of Philadelphia is promised removal, i.e., Rapture.  The Church of Philadelphia is the most representative of the Bride of Christ.

 

The Church of Philadelphia is very closely associated with the New Jerusalem, the Holy City of God.  The Church of Philadelphia is urged to hold onto her crown and not let anyone deny her of it (Rev 3:11).  The Church of Smyrna is the only other Church promised a crown.  Both were not asked to repent.

 

The Church of Smyrna was not promised removal (Rapture).  To earn her crown she must remain “faithful unto death”.  The Church of Philadelphia was promised removal and all she needs to do is to hold fast to her crown without having to die a martyr’s death!

 

[Many New Testament believers have grossly misunderstood law and grace.  They feign humility by saying that it is impossible to keep God’s word.  The Church of Philadelphia hangs on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.]
