Dear John and Doves:

In Acts chapter 7 we read the scathing indictment that Stephen presented to the Jews before they murdered him.  Of interest is this one point:

42 Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the Prophets: 'Did you offer Me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?

43 You also took up the tabernacle of Moloch, And the star of your god Remphan, Images which you made to worship; And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.'

There's been research done on the star of Remphan.  It looks like this:

You can do a search for images of "star of Remphan" and get plenty of pictures and additional information.  Needless to say, this six-pointed star is easily recognized by probably all of us:

Some things are not what they purport.  Jesus would have a problem with modern "Jews."  So would Stephen, and so should we.
